One race remains to close out the fifteenth season for the Granite State Pro Stock Series presented by Hudson International Speedway. As the sun sets over Claremont Motorsports Park Sunday evening, the GSPSS will either have its third repeat champion to celebrate, or its thirteenth different titlist to crown.

The GSPSS returns to its home track in New Hampshire’s Upper Valley as part of Claremont’s own season-ending Fall Challenge, a multi-division affair with the Pro Stocks anchoring Sunday’s diverse schedule. With ten races already in the books, the championship battle comes down to two series veterans hoping that their respective paths to the championship pass through Claremont’s winner’s circle.

Jeremy Sorel has led the title race since taking his first series checkered flag at Stafford Motor Speedway in April. The Westfield, Mass., native has taken a long route through racing, from a Modified championship at Stafford to competing in the Southeast before settling closer to home. Sorel has five top fives, nine top tens and has completed every lap so far in a display of consistency that has kept him firmly atop the points standings. After a year of road-tripping, Sorel’s season ends at one of the closest tracks to home, where he came within inches of beating D.J. Shaw in a 2024 thriller.

However, Sorel still has to contend with the seasoned prowess of Joey Polewarczyk, who clings to life in the championship battle. “Joey Pole” has weathered a challenging season, with a win at Seekonk Speedway offsetting tough runs at Speedway presented by Bar Harbor Bank & Trust. The Hudson, N.H., ace is taking the same race-at-a-time strategy that earned him the 2020 GSPSS championship. And while 28 points is a tough call to answer in the last race of the season, the Polewarczyk family team is prepared for the challenge.

Neither Sorel nor Polewarczyk have tasted victory at Claremont, but capping off their respective seasons in victory lane is perhaps their top priority. Evan Beaulieu would also like to end the season on a high note. Twice a winner last year, the Durham, Maine, racer will assume third in points by taking the green flag Sunday afternoon. Despite a challenging season, Beaulieu is coming off a season-best second-place finish in the Bar Harbor Bank & Trust 200. While momentum is already high for next year, a win would keep the pendulum moving in the right direction.

Locked in a tight battle for fifth in the standings, Maine’s Jamie Wright and 2024 GSPSS champ Casey Call are separated by only two points. Wright picked up his fourth top-ten of 2026 two weeks ago at Speedway. Call picked up a new car late in the summer, and has his best finishes of the year in his last two starts.

Cory Casagrande has run a limited schedule this year, but the Nutmeg State native has placed second, second and third in his last three starts, one of those runner-up runs coming at Claremont in July. Wayne Helliwell, Jr. won last year’s season-opening tilt at Claremont; his only series start in 2026 ended early, a statistic “The Punisher” is not about to settle for.

Sorel’s crew chief and teammate Alex Quarterley plans to make it a two-car effort Sunday, following a fourth-place finish at Claremont earlier this year. Dan Winter returns to action after a two-race hiatus, and top rookie Joe Kendall will try to wrap up his season on a high note.

Quebec’s William Roberge, with top-ten finishes in his two GSPSS starts so far, plans to make his United States debut to go a perfect three-for-three. And after a top ten in his series debut in July, Vermont’s Chris Riendeau looks to improve upon his last outing.

Even with opportunities for redemption throughout the field, all eyes will be on the championship battle to see who represents the GSPSS for the year to follow.

Claremont Motorsports Park welcomes the Granite State Pro Stock Series presented by Hudson International Speedway home for Sunday’s third day of Fall Challenge action. On-track action begins at 1:30pm, with the GSPSS anchoring a program also featuring the New England Dwarf Car Series, Tour-type Late Models, Super Streets, Mini Stocks, Pure Stocks, Ridge Runners, Crown Vics, and a 4-cylinder Enduro. Grandstands open at 11:00am both days.
