The Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series is expanding its reach, announcing that it will open its 2027 season at New Smyrna Speedway in Florida. This move marks the series' first venture outside of the Northeast region. The debut event is scheduled for February 13, 2027, and will be a combined race co-sanctioned with the North Carolina-based SMART Modified Tour, as part of the historic World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing.
For over 13 seasons, the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series has remained primarily within New England, having never raced further south than Waterford, CT. The expansion was brought to life through collaboration between the series' Director of Series Development, Renee Dupuis, and SMART Modified Tour owner/operator Chris Williams, alongside New Smyrna Speedway owner Jane Hart.
New Smyrna Speedway has a long history with the World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing, hosting the event since 1968. The Tour Type Modified division has been a part of the World Series since 1976, typically running five consecutive nights. The New Smyrna event will be the opener of a nine-race schedule for the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series in 2027, though the New Smyrna date itself will not be a points-paying event.
The series recently concluded its 13th season at Seekonk Speedway, where Jon McKennedy was crowned the series champion for the second consecutive season and third overall. The 2027 season aims to build on the success of the previous year, which saw a doubling of the number of competitors who completed all nine races.
