The modified racing scene is set for a major kickoff in 2027, as the SMART Modified Tour powered by Pace-O-Matic and the Monaco Modified Tri-Track Series have announced they will begin their season during the World Series at New Smyrna Speedway.

The tour-type modifieds will debut on Saturday, February 13th, 2027, joining the 61st World Series of Asphalt Stock Car Racing. This event continues a rich tradition, as modifieds have been a staple of the New Smyrna Speedway calendar since 1976, which saw Maynard Troyer win the first tour-type modified race.

The monumental one-day show promises significant action, featuring a purse exceeding $85,000. Series directors from both SMART and Monaco Modified expressed great excitement about bringing their series to the legendary Florida facility, which is known as a "rite of passage" in the modified community.

The event will draw teams from both the Northeast and Southeast, building on the history of the week, which includes races like the Richie Evans Memorial 100 and the John Blewett III Memorial 76. Further details regarding this historic convergence of series will be released in the coming weeks.
