Burt Myers is targeting a third North-South Shootout victory this Saturday at Southern National Motorsports Park, following a highly successful season that included his 12th Tour-Type Modified championship at Bowman Gray Stadium.
The veteran driver, who also made the playoffs in the SMART Modified Tour, expressed enthusiasm for the event, noting his positive history with Southern National. Myers mentioned that he has won at the track twice and has held poles in the event at all three locations where the North-South Shootout has been held.
Myers considers the North-South Shootout one of the most significant events in Modified racing, placing it alongside major events like Wilkesboro and the King of the Modifieds. He stated that the goal for the drivers is always to go out on a high note and take home a trophy.
In addition to the main event, Myers will be competing in the 75-lap 602 Modified race that evening. The green flag is set to fly at 5:30 p.m., with Legends, Chargers, Any Cars, and Vintage Modifieds & Sportsman also participating in the day's action.
