BLENKHORN RETURNS TO VICTORY LANE AT IRVING OIL BLENDING & PACKAGING 150

(Moncton, NB, July 22, 2017) – Dylan Blenkhorn of Truro, NS won his third race of season at the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 150 at Petty International Raceway. Blenkhorn, the current point leader battled reigning Series champion Cole Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) from the green flag all the way to the checkers in an intense battle for the victory. Butcher came home in second, followed by Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE) in his first podium finish of the season. Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) and Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year leader Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) edged out Shawn Pierce (Bridgewater, NS) for the fifth place at the line.

Three Atlantic Tiltload Heat Races determined the starting order for the Irving Oil Blending & Packaging 150. Blenkhorn, Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) and Cole Butcher secured the top spot in their respective qualifiers. Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) took home both the Exide Batteries Rookie of the Race and King Freight Future Winners Award. His older brother Cole led 79 laps en route to the Linde Most Laps Led Award.

Prior to the Irving Blending & Packaging 150 the Leisure Days RV Bandoleros and Maritime League of Legends put on some great racing for the capacity crowd at Petty International Raceway. Josh Langille (Coldbrook, NS) won the 25 lap Bandolero feature followed by Nathan Blackburn (Timberlea, NS) and Sam Rogers (Lower Onslow, NS). Braden Langille (Shubenacadie, NS) won the Cummins 50 presented by Petitcodiac Super Variety Legend feature, Cory Hall (Jolicure, NB) and Waylon Farrell (Conception Bay South, NL) completed the podium.

The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour takes next weekend off but will make its one and only stop to picturesque Prince Edward Island Saturday, August 5th for the Lucas Oil 150 at Oyster Bed Bridge Speedway.
