Entry Lists For Oxford And Richmond Grow As Big Month Of July Approaches

NAPLES, ME (June 19) – Entry lists continue to grow as the two biggest Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Model races of the year draw near. With still two months to go before the green flag drops, there are currently over 40 entries for the $25,000 to win, 45th Annual Oxford 250 at Oxford Plains Speedway in August. And at over four months away, the inaugural PASS Commonwealth Classic at Richmond Raceway is drawing entries from across the motorsports spectrum for the PASS Super Late Models, Tour-Type Modifieds, Late Model Stocks, Limited Late Models, and Street Stocks.

But, with high car counts expected for both Oxford and Richmond, getting a guaranteed starting spot is an opportunity that cannot be missed. Now in its fifth year, the groundbreaking “Roads To Oxford And Richmond” program further expands to give racers an opportunity to get locked into short track asphalt racing’s biggest events. And, the month of July is loaded with opportunities.

It all begins on Sunday, July 1 with The Open 100 at Oxford Plains Speedway. This non-points race for drivers who have not won a PASS event in recent years, will award the top three finishers with guaranteed starting spots in the Oxford 250. As a matter of fact, Wayne Helliwell, Jr. parlayed his guaranteed spot in 2016 to the win in the 43rd Annual Oxford 250. But the opportunities do not end there.

Just two days later, on Tuesday, July 3, PASS North racers will compete for $5,000 to win in the Aroostook Savings & Loan Firecracker 200 at Spud Speedway. An event that will give the top five finishers guaranteed starting spots at either the 45th Annual Oxford 250 or the PASS Commonwealth Classic at Richmond.

Likewise, PASS South drivers will have their final opportunity of the year to get locked in to Oxford or Richmond in the 12th Annual Orange Blossom Special at Orange County Speedway. Colorado’s Preston Peltier won the first qualifying race at Hickory Motor Speedway on Easter weekend earlier this season.

This year’s “Roads To Oxford And Richmond “ program will see the race winners get a guaranteed starting position at full start money for the Oxford 250 or at Richmond. The remaining top five finishers in each of these PASS events will be guaranteed a starting position for either the Oxford 250 or Richmond at half start money. All drivers that receive guaranteed spots through the “Roads To Oxford And Richmond” or via championship points provisionals have to compete in their heat races, qualifying, or in their consolation races, but will not have to compete in the last chances race if they have not already advanced.

3-time Oxford 250 winner, Mike Rowe, and PASS South standout, Kodie Connor are among the most recent batch of entries for the 250. Richmond entry forms just became available with Connor as the first entrant, along with former PASS champions, Ben Rowe, Matt Craig, and Tyler Church.
