ATLANTIC OLIVER TIRE 200 SET TO CLOSE OUT 2019 PRO STOCK TOUR SEASON

(Halifax, NS – September 25, 2019) The Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour will close out another sensational season this Saturday at Scotia Speedworld with the Atlantic Oliver Tire 200. After 11 events in four cities it all comes down to the final 200 laps to decide who will be crowned the 2019 Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Champion – and who will cash the $10,000.00 champions cheque! Championship action gets underway 4:00pm with Atlantic Tiltload heat races. Grandstand gates will open at 1:00 PM.

Dylan Blenkhorn (Truro, NS) enters the season finale Atlantic Oliver Tire 200 with a 22 point lead over Jonathan Hicken (Brudenell, PE). Blenkhorn needs a fifth place finish to clinch his first Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour Championship. Even if Hicken wins his Heat Race, leads the most laps and wins the feature race a fifth place finish or better will secure Blenkhorn the title and the $10,000 cheque. Third on back in the standings will mathematically be eliminated from championship contention once Blenkhorn and Hicken take the green flag in the feature on Saturday afternoon.

The Parts for Trucks $50,000 points fund will be on the minds of many drivers entering Saturday’s finale. Although the championship may be out of reach mathematically for most, there is still a lot of cash on the line for other competitors who will be looking to improve or secure their year-end standings. Fans will definitely want to watch the battle for the third in the championship standings as Jarrett Butcher (Porter’s Lake, NS) and Dylan Gosbee (Cornwall, PE) are deadlocked heading into the finale with 2136 points each.

The Exide Batteries Rookie of the Year battle will also come to a close on Saturday. Craig Ward (Riverview, NB) has a lock on the title but had to battle hard all season to take home the iconic trophy. Ward has been racing in the Maritimes for 20 years but this was his first season with the Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour.

The Maritime League of Legends will take centre stage prior to the Atlantic Oliver Tire 200 and will also crown their 2019 champion.

Race Time Radio will also be joining us on Saturday. The race broadcast will be available for listeners absolutely free, no subscription necessary, via www.racetimeradio.com by clicking the “Listen Live” link.

Admission for Saturday’s Season Finale Atlantic Oliver Tire 200 is $30.00 for adults; $8.00 for youth; pit admission is $35.00. Tickets will be available at the gates on race day. (Cash Only)
