Division Line-Up Revised for Thompson Spirit of 76

Street Stock Open Replaces Mini Stocks on July 7 Card

Waterbury, VT and Naples, ME — American-Canadian Tour (ACT) and Pro All Stars Series (PASS) officials have announced a change to the division line-up for the Sam Adams Wicked Hazy IPA Spirit of 76 at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park on Wednesday, July 7. A $1,000-to-win 8-cylinder Street Stock Open will replace the Mini Stocks on the schedule of events.

The decision was made due to concerns about car counts in the Mini Stock class at the first two Thompson Speedway oval track events. The rest of the card will remain the same, with the $5,000-to-win Outlaw Open Modified Series main event, Sunoco Modifieds, Late Models, Vandi Auto Supply Limited Sportsmen, and SK Light Modifieds making up a six-division program.

“We certainly appreciate the Mini Stocks that did show up at our two events this year and the show they put on for the fans,” ACT managing partner Cris Michaud said. “Unfortunately, there simply weren’t enough of them to keep the division going for the full Wednesday summer series. We hope to find a way to bring the Mini Stocks back later in the year after the weekly racing at other tracks is over or if we can figure out a special event for them. In the meantime, we’re looking forward to the Street Stock Open on July 7, and we hope to make announcements soon regarding the division line-up at the remaining Wednesday shows.”

The entry form for the Street Stock Open is now available at www.acttour.com/thompson-speedway, www.proallstarsseries.com, and www.thompsonspeedway.com. The rules are the same as those used for the Street Stock events at the most recent Thompson Icebreaker and World Series of Speedway Racing.

ACT and PASS officials also announced they will begin tracking points for the Sunoco Modifieds, Late Models, Vandi Auto Supply Limited Sportsmen, and SK Light Modifieds. The point standings following the first two events, along with the point system being used, will be posted later this week. Going forward, points updates will be done the day following the event. Although any potential point funds are still to-be-determined, the decision allows Thompson Speedway to recognize a champion in each division.

The Thompson Speedway oval returns Wednesday, July 7 at 6:00pm with the Sam Adams Wicked Hazy IPA Spirit of 76. The Outlaw Open Modifieds chase another $5,000 top prize as part of a six-division program with the Sunoco Modifieds, Late Models, Vandi Auto Supply Limited Sportsmen, SK Light Modifieds, and a $1,000-to-win Street Stock Open.

General admission is $30 for adults, $10 for kids ages 6-12, and free for kids ages 5 and under. and under. Speed51.TV will also have a live pay-per-view broadcast for those who can’t make it to the track. Sign up at www.speed51.tv/products/ppv-outlaw-open-modified-series-at-thompson.
