Hillsboro, NH— Jake Matheson was among the Drivers honored on January 12th at The Speedway Club at Charlotte Motor Speedway, where he accepted the award for the USLCI Young Lions Oval Championship.  One week later, Seekonk Speedway held their Banquet for the 2018 season, where Jake was acknowledged as their Fast Fridays Legend Car Series Champion.

“Our team is grateful for the support and encouragement we’ve had this season. Our achievements would not have been possible without our fans and partners,” Matheson said.  “I have met so many great people and learned so much over the last five years racing in INEX events. I will do my best to put that experience to use as I move into the next stage of my career.”

2018 marks the end of Legend Car racing for Jake.  He added, “I will miss my fellow Legend Car competitors, especially those at my home track of Seekonk Speedway. I am looking forward to returning to Seekonk for Pro Stock racing in September 2019.”

JMR has officially registered to compete in the Granite State Pro Stock Series for 2019.  “I am very excited to make the jump to Pro Stocks. Last season, we tried to spend as much time as possible learning in the pits at GSPSS races.  We are eager for the challenges ahead. It will be an honor to be on the track with such skilled competition.”
