O’Sullivan, MacMichael Show The Way Heading For Shoreline Oval
WALPOLE, N.H. – The Granite State Pro Stock Series season will end in style on Saturday evening at Connecticut’s New London-Waterford Speedbowl. With one of the largest car counts of the season expected, the 2017 series champion will be crowned in the season-finale.
The 2017 season has seen 10 different drivers visit Victory Lane in the first 11 races, including Derek Ramstrom, who stormed onto the scene in the second half of last week’s race at Thompson Speedway Motorsports Park en route to the victory. The only driver who has two victories in GSPSS competition so far this season is Joe Squeglia, who will be back at the Speedbowl.

2017 Wild -n- Wacky Wednesday Champions Crowned

WATERFORD, CT (September 20, 2017): The NLWS wrapped up its 2017 Wild -n- Wacky portion of the 2017 season schedule. Features were extended by 5-laps and when the dust settled, four champions were crowned.
First off in the 25-lap Bandoleros feature all Zachary Martinez needed to do was take the green flag in the Mikey Motorsports sponsored #14x and the championship would be secured. The N. Kingstown, RI started in the tenth spot as the green flag waved and finished fifth as the final checkered flag waved concluding the last Bandolero point race of the season. As the green waved it was Maddie Harkin jumping to the lead from the pole position and duplicated her finish last week. Harkin led all 25-laps and took down back to back wins and her third overall win in 2017.
Finishing in the top-5 was PJ Evans, Brody Monahan, Nicholas Hovey and Zachary Martinez. For Monahan, it was his first podium visit on the season. (more…)

Emotional Evening At The New London Waterford Speedbowl
-Point Battles Heating Up As Season Winds Down-
WATERFORD, CT (September 16, 2017): The NLWS was hit with news that nobody wanted to hear before the racing was set to begin. It was learned earlier in the day, track regular Ted Christopher was killed in a plane crash heading to the Whelen Modified Tour event at the Riverhead Raceway. The nights events were put on hold and a very special tribute was held for the late great driver. Christopher’s SK Modified was paraded around The Speedbowl by car owner Doug DiPisa as fellow drivers, officials, safety workers and teams lined up the front stretch to honor Christopher. It was a very touching moment not only for the fans but everybody who was in attendance. (more…)

Rocco Nabs His Seventh SK Win in 2017
-Eric Goodale Wins First Exit Reality Modified Touring Series Race of 2017-
WATERFORD, CT (September 9, 2017): Keith Rocco wasted no time getting to the front and taking down his seventh win of the season. The Berlin, CT driver who started fifth on the grid wasted no time by grabbing the lead away from Todd Owen on lap-3 and cruised to the win in the 35-lap feature event. Rocco built a considerable lead and was never slowed as the event went green to checkered, rounding out the top-5 were Rocco, Owen, Kyle James, Teddy Christopher and Rob Janovic Jr. With the win, Rocco maintains the point lead over the #31 of Kyle James. Heat wins went to Kyle James and Todd Owen. (more…)

Florida Invader Danny Anderson Takes Mr. Rooter Event At NLWS

WATERFORD, CT (August 2, 2017): After two groups of qualifying was complete it was Long Island’s Corey Coats and Florida’s Danny Anderson sitting on the front row for the 35-lap Mr. Rooter / NLWS Trucks combination event at the NLWS.
As the green flag waved it was Corey Coates pulling out to the lead with Anderson in tow. The caution flag will quickly appear as Al Stone III spun his #1 Truck between turns three and four. While the field was under caution Corey Coates ducked pit side with suspension issues on the #81 truck.

Rocco Wins Sixth SK Modified Feature On Military Night
-Ternullo Unbeatable In Legends-
WATERFORD, CT (August 2, 2017): Keith Rocco had to withstand numerous challenges from Ashway, RI’s Kyle James to take down the 35-lap SK Modified Feature. It was the sixth win on the season for the Berlin, CT driver. Rocco didn’t was anytime moving to the front as on lap-8 Rocco out muscled Matt Galko down the back stretch to take the lead in the Dunleavey’s Truck and Trailer Repairs sponsored #88. Rocco had company as James also got under Galko in the Jammin 107.7 sponsored #21 to move in the runner up position. The two started to pull away from the field with James all over the rear bumper of Rocco. James managed to get on the outside of Rocco as the two-battled side-by-side and swapped the lead on numerous occasions as the race was winding down. James saved one last ditch effort to get around Rocco but couldn’t make it stick giving Rocco the win. With the win Rocco continues to hold the points lead over James. Finishing behind James was Todd Owen, Matthew Galko and Diego Monahan who rounded out the top-5. Heat wins went to Owen and Rocco.
