Stafford Speedway was back in action on Friday, June 5th with the Casella Waste SK 80, the $3,000 to win first leg of the Sign Pro Triple Crown. Jon Puleo was the big winner of the night, using a dominating drive to notch his first win of the 2026 season in the Casella Waste SK 80.
Michael Bennett was a Late Model winner for the first time in nearly 5 years at Stafford, Jason Finkbein came out a first-time SK Light feature winner after an eventful finish, Rich Hammann scored his first win of 2026 in the Limited Late Model feature, and Ryan Waterman took down what is already his fourth win of 2026 in the Street Stock feature.
In the Casella Waste SK 80 feature, Glen Reen charged around polesitter Jon Puleo to take the early race lead. Puleo came right back to the inside of Reen on lap-2 to move to the front. Bryan Narducci was third in line with Marcello Rufrano in fourth and Michael Christopher, Jr. fifth. The caution came out with 4 laps complete as Frank Ruocco got into the turn 3 wall and the cars of Wade Gagner, Josh Zentek, and Ethan Durocher all spun.
For Stafford Speedway SK Modified driver Mikey Flynn and his #24 Place Motors team, the 2026 season has been a roller coaster ride.
Flynn opened the season with back to back top-5 finishes that saw him lead the standings after two races, but since then his season has gone downhill in a hurry. After finishing 11th in the third race of the season, Flynn and the #24 team have been caught up in multi-car incidents the past two races that have resulted in back to back 25th place finishes and sees Flynn down to 13th in the SK Modified standings.
This Friday night, June 5th, will see Stafford Speedway’s premier SK Modified® division take part in their first extra distance event of the 2026 season, the Casella Waste SK 80.
The Casella Waste SK 80 is the first of three extra distance events that will make up the 2026 Sign Pro SK Triple Crown, a 3-race mini-series that will pay out a $20,000 point fund to all SK Modified® drivers who participate in all three Sign Pro Triple Crown events.
The Casella Waste 80-lap feature event will provide the winner with a guaranteed $3,000 that becomes nearly $3,500 with contingency bonuses from a purse of over $20,000. This year’s edition of the Casella Waste SK 80 will see the SK Modified® field try to unseat Michael Christopher, Jr., who will be looking for back to back victories in the Casella Waste SK 80.
It was Kids’ Poster Night at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Saturday evening, and the youngsters in attendance were treated to an exciting card of dirt track action. A pair of drivers earned their second wins of the season, and two others visited victory lane for the first time in their careers.
In the 30-lap Sunoco Sportsman Modified feature, veteran wheelman Randy Ryan cruised to a seemingly easy win. It was an emotional bounce-back win for Ryan, who saw one of his cars destroyed in a turn-one rollover in his last start. The outcome of this one was never in doubt as Ryan pounced to the lead from the pole at the drop of the green flag and led every lap. Brent Warren, who was lightning fast in his heat race, quickly moved from his fourth spot on the grid to second by passing Marty Hutchins and Eric Shaw, but Ryan had already checked out. Ryan crossed the finish line half a track in front of the rest of the pack. Warren held on for second, Vince Quenneville was third, Josh Sunn fourth, and Tanner Siemons, who moved up 10 spots from his 15th starting position, was fifth.
What was slated to be a cold and dreary Saturday afternoon in Coastal Maine turned out to be a beautiful one, allowing for a full Group 1 program to go off without a hitch at Wiscasset Speedway.
The night’s racing action, presented by Mainely Karting, kicked off with a 25-lap exhibition race for LST Motorsports Park’s Sr. and Master Champ Karts. Both divisions raced simultaneously at once, with Jon McConologue sneaking into the early lead. Andrew Rogers was quickly making his way through the field, climbing to second in the opening laps of the race. Veteran Mike Ramsey followed his lead, joining the top 3 shortly after. Andrew Rogers fell back to fourth while battling lap traffic and Jon McConologue also fell victim as Parker Doucette and Mike Ramsey made their way to the top of the leaderboard. Mike Ramsey made a bold crossover move as the laps wound down, catapulting to the lead. Parker Doucette was all over him on the final lap, merely edging him out at the line for the overall victory. Jon McConologue followed, completing the top 3.
Stafford Speedway was back in action on Friday, May 29th with the Great Rate Rentals Kids Night program. Stafford’s two open wheel divisions both featured first-time winners with Tyler Chapman taking down his first career win in the SK Modified® feature and Stephen Kalogiannis notching his first career SK Light feature victory. Other feature winners were Darrell Keane in the Late Model feature, Jason Lafayette in the Limited Late Model feature, and Ryan Waterman in the Street Stock feature.
In the 40-lap SK Modified® feature, Wesley Prucker led the field to the green and he led the first lap before giving way to Glen Reen on lap-2. Alex Pearl was third in line behind Reen and Prucker with Troy Talman fourth and Matt Vassar fifth. Talman took third from Pearl on lap-4 while Prucker nearly took the lead from Reen before falling back into line in second place. Prucker went back into the lead on lap-8 with Reen trying to hold off Talman for second. Pearl was fourth with Dylan Izzo glued to his back bumper in fifth place. Pearl got around both Talman and Reen to move into second with Talman taking third. Reen faded back to tenth place as Izzo took third from Talman. Mikey Flynn took fourth from Talman on lap-13 before the caution flew for spins in turn 2 by Curt Brainard, Josh Morrison, Chase Cook, and David Flammia, Jr.
