The Middlebury, Vt., driver won the Pepsi Sportsman Modified feature on Friend Construction Night on Sunday, August 4, to turn a bad run of luck around, highlighting an event that also saw Anthony Ryan, Chris Murray, David Sartwell-Cornell, and Evan Roberts make trips to Victory Lane.

The rest of the weekly 99Rock Racing Series Divisions were also in action along with the WYKR Sprint Cars of New England. Barre, VT – Graniteville’s Frank Putney dominated the late stages of the 35th Bolduc Metal Recycling Enduro 200 to claim the $3,000 top prize at Barre’s Thunder Road on Sunday, August 4. Putney took the lead with 70 laps to go after Barre’s Chris LaForest pitted with a flat tire and was never headed from there on his way to the victory.
Helliwell Takes Advantage of Late Tangle for Midsummer 250 Win
N. Woodstock, NH – Dover, NH’s Wayne Helliwell Jr. was in the right place at the right time to score the victory in the Midsummer 250 at N. Woodstock, NH’s White Mountain Motorsports Park on Saturday, August 3. Helliwell inherited the lead when Jimmy Hebert and Scott Payea got together on a restart with four laps remaining in the longest event of the year for the American-Canadian Tour (ACT). He then held off a last-lap bid by Graniteville, VT’s Stephen Donahue to score the $10,000 top prize.
Annual Enduro, Street Stock Special Arrive This Sunday
Barre, VT – The event that many Northeast race fans spend the entire year looking forward to arrives this Sunday, August 4 at Barre’s Thunder Road. The Annual Bolduc Metal Recycling Enduro 200 and Street Stock Special has been circled for months on the calendars of many racers and fans who look forward to the area’s biggest night of amateur stock car racing.
Barre, VT – Barre’s Jason Corliss put his name back atop the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model heap at Thunder Road by storming to the WDEV Radio/Calkins Portable Toilets Night win on Thursday, August 1. Corliss dominated the second half of the 50-lap feature before surviving a green-white-checkered finish to take his second point-counting win of the year and third overall.
Washington’s Ricky Roberts started on the pole and led the opening circuit before the field got jammed up exiting turn two and Milton’s Scott Dragon spun to bring out the yellow. When the green flew again, Middlesex’s Phil Scott got the bite on the outside, taking the lead away from Roberts.
