Sontag Takes Sportsman Modified Checkers
Winchester, NH: The high banked ¼ mile of Monadnock Speedway was back in action this past Saturday night after taking a week off for the summer break with K & N Night. The NASCAR Whelen All American Series weekly divisions along with Young Guns competed on the special Christmas in July event where fans and competitors donated unwrapped toys to be distributed to families in need at Christmas time. Prior to the feature events, a moment of silence was held for long time announcer and friend Mark Weirnasz who passed way during the week after sudden health complications. The winners’ circle included; Mariah Stebbins (Young Guns), Ed Lofland (Thunder Stocks), Desmond Skillings (Mini Stocks), Joel Monahan (Super Stocks) and Cameron Sontag (Sportsman Modifieds). (more…)

Soucy conquers the Mini Stock Challenge; Johnson and Rollins Split Sportsman Mods Twin 25’s

Winchester, NH: The NASCAR Whelen All-American Series took to the high banks of Monadnock Speedway with a few twists. The Sportsman Modifieds would run twin 25 lap features. The Mini Stocks would go extended distance for extra money sponsored by center auto Parts. The Mini Stocks would also be running for a special trophy presented by Demco Auto Body in Guilford, VT; along with hard charger award from Gomarlo’s and last place bonus from the Pickering Family. The extra distance and increased pay day brought 29 Mini Stocks to Monadnock Speedway to compete for 26 starting spots. Nathan Johnson, Geoff Rollins, Craig Chaffee and Nancy Muni capture their first wins of the season; while Mariah Stebbins and Jared Soucy make their 2nd trip to victory lane of the season.

New England Pro Four Modifieds Visit the High Banks

Winchester, NH: The New England Pro Four Modifieds and the open ACT style late model special joined the NASCAR Whelen All-American Series action this past Saturday night in front of a large crowd; after a lot of recent rain Mother Nature greeted race fans and teams with a beautiful day for racing, and the large crowd wasn’t disappointed.
The Young Guns would take to the track to get the racing action started. After taking a week off Cale Skillings found his #95 starting on the pole. Cale would be “glad to be back (racing)” as he would lead every lap on his way to his third victory of the season. But the racing action heated up behind Cale, as there was a hard battle for 2nd place between the 12 of Chris Sontag and the 99 of Isabella Minchella. Sontag would prevail and finish 2nd. Minchella would have to settle for a 3rd place finish.

Mother Nature Washes Out Two In a Row
Winchester, NH: The Northeast experienced a very dismal weekend forcing many tracks to cancel their race program including Monadnock Speedway. The track was to hold their first inaugural race for the ACT Type late Models along with the Sign Works Oval Track Series that featured the Granite State Legends and Bandoleros. On Sunday, May 14th the first Mudbog Mudslinger event of the season was also washed out.

Monadnock To Hold ACT Type Late Model Event
Winchester, NH: Mother Nature did not cooperate for Monadnock Speedway this past Saturday (May 6). The owners and management decided to cancel the races early due to another storm system coming in early Saturday afternoon predicting to dump another inch of rain to an already saturated facility.
This Saturday (May 13), the speedway will host the first of a six race series for ACT Type Late Models. The competitors will compete under the ACT Late Model rules with the exception of the tires which will be a 9″ American Racer. The management has had a lot of positive feedback about the six race series that will offer $1000 to win dueling it our for 75 laps. The special inaugural event will be filled with plenty of racing action which will also include Legends, Bandoleros, Sportsman Modifieds, Super Stocks, Mini Stocks, Lightning Stocks and Young Guns. Race time is at 6pm. Pit gates open at 1pm with practice at 2:30pm.

Byrne Celebrates Sportsman Mod Win, Curtis Repeats
Winchester, NH: This past Saturday, Monadnock Speedway held their second event of the season with temperatures well above what it was for their season opener a few weeks ago. The fans enjoyed racing action from the speedway’s regular NASCAR Whelen All American Racing Series divisions along with the Young Guns. It was a special night for the Curtis family as Chris Curtis (Super Stocks) and his son Jaret Curtis (Lightning Stocks) both celebrated victories. Ben Byrne scored his second career win in the Sportsman Modifieds as 2017 Lightning Stock champion Pat Houle took the checkers in the Mini Stocks. Cale Skillings celebrated his first win in the Young Gun division after a bad crash in practice last week which prevented him to compete opening day.
