Corey Day made a thrilling late-race pass with four laps remaining to win the BetRivers 200 at Dover Motor Speedway, securing his second career NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series victory.
A key incident involved Rajah Caruth and Jesse Love colliding while battling for the lead, which affected the race dynamics and allowed Justin Allgaier to briefly regain control.
Justin Allgaier led a race-high 71 laps and finished second, extending his NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series championship lead over Sheldon Creed to 175 points.
“Man, I was hoping that’s how it would play out,” Day said. “I saved so hard there early in the last run once we put on tires and the yellow came out and I thought it was all for nothing, but it all just worked out good.”
“This one feels really special.”
The late pass capped a dramatic final run that saw multiple contenders battle for control of the race throughout the afternoon.
Dover, Del. – Kyle Busch conquered The Monster Mile once again Friday evening, but this time it took more than pure speed to get the job done.
After dominating the NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series ECOSAVE 200 at Dover Motor Speedway, Busch was forced to manage his fuel over the closing laps while Ty Majeski closed in behind him. In the end, the two-time Cup Series champion had just enough fuel left in the tank to seal another victory at The World’s Fastest One-Mile Oval.
The win is the 69th of his NASCAR CRAFTSMAN Truck Series career and his fifth Truck Series victory at Dover. The win also counts as his 13th victory at Dover Motor Speedway between all three of NASCAR’s national touring series.
“You never know when the last [win] is,” Busch said after the race. “It feels really good to put it in victory lane again.”
With the dust settled on a successful Icebreaker weekend at Thompson Speedway, officials with the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) and the American Canadian Tour (ACT) have announced the May 13 Thompson Mods Race will pay $5000 to win and $500 to start.
Keith Rocco secured a pair of thrilling victories over Todd Owen at the Icebreaker in races that had many fans calling it the best racing of the weekend.
“After adding the Loyalty program for 2026, we still wanted to add in another big money race,” said co-promoter Tom Mayberry. “We think the Thompson Mods are putting on some excellent racing, and we want to keep growing this division.”
Thompson Mods waged some epic battles throughout the 52nd Icebreaker weekend. The 30-lap event on Saturday was roundly praised as the “race of the weekend” with four drivers swapping spots multiple times throughout the contest. Keith Rocco prevailed over Todd Owen and Jon Puelo. Danny Cates and Chase Cook rounded out the top five.
Christian Lundgaard prevailed in a race filled with thrills, incidents and enough pit wall decisions to prematurely age strategists to win the Sonsio Grand Prix on Saturday on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, his first NTT INDYCAR SERIES victory in nearly three years.
Lundgaard drove his No. 7 Arrow McLaren Chevrolet to his second career victory by 4.6713 seconds over the No. 12 Verizon Team Penske Chevrolet of David Malukas. Lundgaard’s first career win came at the Honda Indy Toronto on July 16, 2023, while driving for Rahal Letterman Lanigan Racing. This victory ended a 47-race winless drought for the Danish driver, and he became the third McLaren driver to win in the INDYCAR SERIES, joining Johnny Rutherford and Pato O’Ward.
“Very happy,” Lundgaard said. “I really didn’t expect this today. I hoped for it. This was a long wait for this win, especially around this place. You know how fast I’ve always been around here, and it’s just been time after time after time disappointments. Now we’re here. Let’s go!”
Tymek Kucharczyk was Mr. Consistency for the first five races of the INDY NXT by Firestone season, but now he’s a winner.
Series rookie Kucharczyk, the first Polish driver to compete in the INDYCAR development series, earned his first career victory by holding off Max Taylor to win Race 2 of the Indianapolis Grand Prix doubleheader on the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course.
Kucharczyk climbed from fifth to the lead after the first two turns on the 14-turn, 2.439-mile circuit, leading all 30 laps in the No. 71 HMD Motorsports car. He took the checkered flag .6273 of a second ahead of Taylor in the No. 28 Susan G. Komen machine of Andretti Global after a taut, race-long duel in the caution-free race.
Enzo Fittipaldi, who won Race 1 Friday, prevailed in an exciting three-way fight over the last 10 laps of the race for the final podium spot in the No. 67 HMD Motorsports machine. Lochie Hughes placed fourth in the No. 26 Andretti Global car, with Alessandro de Tullio rounding out the top five in the No. 14 AJ Foyt Racing entry.
Series leader Nikita Johnson placed sixth in the No. 21 Cape Motorsports Powered by ECR car. Kucharczyk climbed to second in the standings with his win, 11 points behind Johnson.
Star Speedway’s Coastal Clash 150 has been postponed from Saturday, May 9, to Sunday, June 14, due to forecasted inclement weather in Epping, New Hampshire. Officials with the Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour and Star Speedway made the decision to reschedule the event after three consecutive races across different facilities earlier this month.
“It’s unfortunate that Mother Nature couldn’t see us through just one more weekend, but we’ve been incredibly lucky up to this point,” said ACT managing partner Cris Michaud. “To save teams the travel this was the best call to make and we’re looking forward to returning to Star Speedway on Sunday, June 14.”
The postponement means the Brookside Equipment Sales Triple Crown will feature back-to-back events starting with the 51st Spring Green at Seekonk Speedway on Saturday, June 6, followed by the Coastal Clash 150 at Star Speedway on Sunday, June 14. The Milton CAT series will next race on Sunday, May 31, at Riverside Speedway & Adventure Park in Groveton, New Hampshire, with additional series including the Pro All Stars Series Super Late Models and PASS Modifieds also set to compete.
