Barre, VT – Montpelier’s Kyle Pembroke survived a rear-view mirror full of defending “King of the Road” Scott Dragon to take the Country Camper Midseason Championships at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday, July 25. Pembroke took the lead from polesitter Christopher Pelkey following the only restart on lap 25 and brought home his second Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model victory of the season.

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Bobby Hackel reignited his championship flame with a big win at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Sunday, July 21, taking the Community College of Vermont “Vince Quenneville Sr. Memorial” event. With double points on the line for the Mid-Season Championships, Hackel put himself back into title contention with a hard-fought win. Also visiting Victory Lane during the event were Anthony Warren, Chris Murray, P.J. Bleau, and Evan Roberts.
Fornwalt Victorious in the Sportsman Modifieds, Chris LaForest is the First Repeat Winner in the Sportsman Coupes
Another fast paced evening of action saw Jordan Fornwalt claim his division leading fourth win in the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds with Chris LaForest becoming the first two time winner in the Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes. It was Madness night for the C.A. Miller Limited Late Models with Tyler Tremblay taking his first career win. Jason Porter came out on top of an entertaining Peanut’s Auto 4-Cylinder Feature. The Granite State Mini-Sprints were also on hand with Tom Chaffee winning the 500cc Class and Dan Lang the 600cc Class. Also Granite State 600cc competitor Joe Kemp Proposed to Faith Putnam in Victory lane!
Clark Outduels Sweet for Vermont Governor’s Cup Win
Barre, VT – Fayston’s Brooks Clark took advantage of a late restart to grab the biggest win of his Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model career at the 40th VP Racing Fuels Vermont Governor’s Cup on Thursday, July 18. Clark rode the outside around Barre’s Nick Sweet with just seven laps remaining in the 150-lap event to beat a stout field, which included NASCAR star Christopher Bell, for a career-defining victory.

Frank Hoard III and Floyd Billington ended long victory doughts, the technical inspection line played a role in support division action, and four drivers found themselves upside down.
