WEST HAVEN, Vt. – A big holiday crowd packed the grandstands at Devil’s Bowl Speedway to see Justin Comes and Adam Pierson take top honors at The Stove Depot Labor Day Special on Sunday, September 2. Other race winners included Paolo Pascarella, Chris Murray, Mike Preston, and rookie John McPhee Jr., and come-from-behind championship titles were wrapped up by Brian Whittemore and Will Hull.

Barre, VT – Hometown racer Jason Corliss proved once again that he’s the man to beat in big Thunder Road events by taking the Coca-Cola Labor Day Classic for the American-Canadian Tour (ACT) on Sunday, September 2. Corliss grabbed the lead from polesitter Cody Blake just before the halfway point and never looked back on his way to a $5,000 payday in the Summer Showdown Series finale.

Big Labor Day Classic Set to Go Green at Thunder Road

Barre, VT – Thunder Road celebrates one of the biggest weekends in motorsports this Sunday, September 2 with the 40th Coca-Cola Labor Day Classic. The American-Canadian Tour (ACT) will be on hand as part of a holiday weekend program that is expected to draw more than 120 cars to the Barre high banks.

The stars of the ACT Late Model Tour will take on many of Thunder Road’s Maplewood/Irving Late Model regulars for a 200-lap endurance test. ACT standouts such as Colchester’s Scott Payea, Rowley, MA’s Eddie MacDonald, Williamstown’s Jimmy Hebert, and Lebanon, NH’s Rich Dubeau are expected to do battle for a $5,000 top prize in the Summer Showdown Series finale.

Ten drivers score wins on night of double features

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Ten different dirt track stock car drivers visited victory lane at Devil’s Bowl Speedway on Sunday, August 26, as the Sugar & Spice Restaurant presented its annual “Double Stack Night” program. A full card of double feature races for all five weekly divisions – plus the seventh annual “Great North American Pancake Eating Championship” – meant a busy night for everyone, but the whole event was completed by 9:15 p.m.

Dead River Co. night at Bear Ridge Speedway was an action packed evening with lots of great racing. It was also kids pit tour night and the youngsters had a great time collecting driver cards, trophies, candy and more from the competitors making for another memorable night for the children.
