“King of the Road” Battle Still Up for Grabs Entering Premium Mortgage Night
Barre, VT – Barre’s Thunder Road takes another giant step in the 2018 “King of the Road” chase this Thursday, August 16 at Premium Mortgage Night. Just two rounds remain in the fight for the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model title, and the multi-way battle could go in any direction over the coming two weeks.
Three veterans of the Late Model ranks remain very much alive in their pursuit of a track championship. South Burlington’s Trampas Demers sits atop the standing entering Thursday’s 50-lap main event. The longtime weekly racer jumped to the top of the heap with a victory two weeks ago and maintains a 13-point edge over Milton’s Scott Dragon. Barre’s Jason Corliss is 18 points behind Demers in third.

While moisture once again surrounded a lot of the adjacent areas Bear Ridge Speedway stayed dry and put on some fantastic racing on Swenson Insurance night. Joining the regular divisions of the 99Rock Weekly racing Series was the Wingless Auto Club along with Kids Rides, which makes the night one of the favorites for the children.

Hodgdon Wins Triple Crown Finale & Championship on Cody Night
Barre, VT – Craftsbury Common’s Joel Hodgdon took home all the marbles at Cody Chevrolet Cadillac Night on Thursday, August 9. The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tiger point leader stood tall against every challenger to capture the Myers Container Service Triple Crown finale, securing the championship in the 3-race series to go with it.

Thunder Road to Crown First Champion of 2018 This Thursday
Barre, VT – The first championship of the 2018 season at Barre’s Thunder Road will be awarded this Thursday, August 9 on Cody Chevrolet Cadillac Night. and Melvin Pierson grabs his first in the Sportsman Coupes
After gallons of water saturated the track the skies cleared to offer some great racing excitement. Several early flips in the visiting Granite State Mini Sprints and Wingless Auto Club looked to make for an extra long night but once the track got worked in things settled down for some of the best racing action of the season.
