Moodie is “Spectacular” for Win at Aubuchon Holiday Event
Barre, VT – Wolcott’s Brendan Moodie joined the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model first-time winner’s club in the by taking the Aubuchon Hardware Holiday Spectacular on Tuesday, July 3 in a barnburner. By doing so, the winningest Flying Tiger driver in Thunder Road history added a Late Model victory to his résumé in his rookie year in the division.

Holiday Doubleheader Kicks Off Tuesday at Thunder Road
Barre, VT – Barre’s Thunder Road is the place to be this week for fans of short-track racing. The Aubuchon Hardware Holiday Fireworks Spectacular this Tuesday, July 3 at 7:00pm kicks off a doubleheader that celebrates the nation’s Independence Day with not one, but two nights of high-octane thrills.

The weather was sizzling hot for the Dads 4 By Tools & Supply/Hoosier Tire East 4th of July Holiday Spectacular and so was the competition on the track for the 99Rock Weekly Racing Series.
It was Madness Night for the Sabil & Sons DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds with well over $9,000.00 on the line, four 27 Lap Segments were run to determine the overall winner. Current points’ leader Robert Tucker claimed the overall win on the strength of winning the first and last segment, accumulating 22 points. Going into the last segment Adam Pierson was in the drivers’ seat, having won segment two and amassing only 11 points through the first three segments, but a loose wheel cover forced Pierson to the pits during a caution period to have it removed. He returned but could only muster a fourteenth place finish, giving him 25 points and second overall. Kevin Chaffee was third with 26 points. Tanner Siemons and Jordan Fornwalt completed the overall top five finish.

Devil’s Bowl Speedway Moves “Fireworks Spectacular” Start Time to 7:00
Change made in anticipation of forecasted heat wave
WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has made a change to the starting time of its “Fireworks Spectacular” on Tuesday, July 3. In anticipation of the expected heat wave, the event has been pushed back one hour to help alleviate some of the heat concerns.

Donahue Makes Thrilling Charge to Break into Winner’s Circle on CCV Night
Barre, VT – Graniteville’s Stephen Donahue joined the ranks of Maplewood/Irving Late Model winners at Barre’s Thunder Road by charging to the win on Community College of Vermont (CCV) Night on Friday, June 29. The third-generation racer took the lead for good from Washington’s Ricky Roberts on lap 38 of the 50-lap feature and sped away for his first Late Model win on the Barre high banks.
