Grim Weather Forecast Forces Postponement of CCV Night

Barre, VT – Due to a grim Thursday weather forecast that has shown no signs of improvement, Thunder Road officials have postponed Community College of Vermont Night until Friday, June 29 at 6:30pm.

The schedule of events will remain the same for the speedway’s final event of June. Double features are on the program for the Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers along with a full card of racing for the Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Models, Allen Lumber Street Stocks, and Burnett Scrap Metals Road Warriors. The event will also feature the Vermont Brewer’s Cup for the state’s top craft brewers.

Double the Tiger Action on Tap at Packed CCV Night

Barre, VT – Barre’s Thunder Road will be full speed ahead this Thursday, June 28 at Community College of Vermont Night. A pit area full of race cars is expected for a special 6:30pm post time with all four of the track’s exciting classes ready to give lessons to their competition.

The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers are ready to double up on Thursday with two features scheduled. They open the program with their Casella Waste Systems main event that was postponed following qualifying two weeks ago. A second feature will follow later in the evening as part of the CCV program.

Bear Ridge Suffers another Rainout during the 2018 51st consecutive season of racing

Promotors Preston/Elms did their best to try to wait out the predicated forecast of rain with clearing expected around 6:00pm, but alas once again the weather man missed the mark, as the rain and mist came in around 3:00pm and just never left, forcing them to make the decision to pull the plug for the second time in 2018. Wells River Savings Bank will be coming back later in the season for their night of racing.

WEST HAVEN, Vt. – Devil’s Bowl Speedway has suffered its first rainout of the 2018 stock car racing season on Sunday, June 24. Rain on Sunday morning and an unfavorable evening forecast have forced speedway officials to cancel the event.

The event was scheduled to be “Throwback Night” featuring the Mohawk Valley Vintage Dirt Modified Series and the new Champlain Valley Vintage Dirt Modifieds. Track and series officials will attempt to find a suitable makeup date for the vintage tours, which would be announced in the future.

Martin, Corliss Win Big on NorthCountry Federal Credit Union Night

Barre, VT – Hometown racers Jeffery Martin and Jason Corliss were the big winners on a wild NorthCountry Federal Credit Union Night at Barre’s Thunder Road on Thursday, June 21. Martin earned the biggest win of his Allen Lumber Street Stock career by taking the Twin State Street Stock Series opener. Meanwhile, Corliss capped the night with a victory in the second of two Maplewood/Irving Oil Late Model features after finishing runner-up in their first feature of the evening.

Track officials announced Wednesday they have agreed to host the Rawhide Rodeo Tour on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7.
