WINCHESTER, N.H. – Colton Martin and Tyler Leary split a Modified twinbill Saturday night on the high banks of Monadnock Speedway.

Michael Yeaton, a star of the Six Shooter division, won his first ever in the Pure Stocks and then, still warming up, won his second. Fast Eddie, who cut his racing teeth here in the Young Guns, earned his first Pro 4 Modified win at Monadnock.

Limited Late Model ace JD Stockwell, rebounding from a forgettable night a week earlier, scored a strong win Saturday to pad his points lead in the sizzling full-fendered division. In the visiting Mini Cup series, it was Kendal Whitehill powering to another high banks victory lap.

Martin, one of 88 graduating seniors earlier at Claremont’s Stevens High School, started up front alongside Cole Littlewood in the first All States Material Group 604 Modified 35-lapper and never looked back. Bringing row-two starter Andy Major with him, he then held the Bay State blaster at bay to score a two-length victory.

Gabe Brown Wins Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour Coastal Clash 150

The Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour rolled into Epping, New Hampshire’s Star Speedway for the rain-delayed Coastal Clash 150 on Sunday.

Twenty-two cars committed to the reschedule date with Jonathan Bouvrette, Cole Littlewood and Gabe Brown taking the three heat race victories to set the field.

Thunder Road invader Brandon Gray earned the pole position in heat race qualifying action with Derry’s Erick Sands to his outside. Gray would maintain the early lead before Sands fought back to lead lap 12 by a bumper cover. The two-by-two fight for the lead ended abruptly as the hood went up over Kaiden Fisher’s windshield and after three blind laps Fisher spun off turn three to call out the first caution.

Behind them came Milton CAT American-Canadian Tour point leader Gabe Brown, picking off the top-ten slowly but surely before catastrophe struck. A torn alternator wire ended the strong day for Erick Sands, sending him pitside on lap 56 leaving the Gabe Brown Show from then on.

Both new and returning winners made it to Saturday night magic at White Mountain Motorsports Park.

Quinny Welch won the 1764 Sports Bar & Grill Late Model victory lane podium, while Sidney and Sicard took the win.

The New England Auto Racers (NEAR) brought their tough old racers over the Kancamagus and up Interstate 93 to take on the White Mountain highbanks as part of their yearly doubleheader with Thunder Road on Thursday. The condensed fifteen lap feature saw Dave Blanchard in his 1979 Chevy Malibu take the checkers for the Sportsman while Mike Kugler took home the top Modified honors.

Makenzi Sicard and Kiptyn Aldrich kicked off feature racing for the Dads 4 By Tool & Supply Kids Division before Sicard and Cameron Beattie made contact on lap one to call the early caution. Back under green, Clayton Houghton took command of the field while Madison Potter and Gracen Gorham duked it out for second behind him. Potter and Gorham made contact coming off turn four in the final lap, leaving Clayton Houghton to take down his first Kids Division win over Evan Folsom and Chloe Doyle at the line.

McKennedy and Meservey Battle for MRS Seacoast 75 Victory

IMG_7854.jpeg

The pilots of the Modified Racing Series invaded Lee USA Speedway for the Seacoast 75 on Friday night with Jon McKennedy on the pole position. The Chelmsford, Massachusetts Modified master put the power down from the drop of the green flag as defending series champion Brett Meservey gave chase. McKennedy, with thousands of laps logged at the 3/8-mile oval, played cat and mouse with Meservey to the very end of the caution free event to steal away the victory with Joey Jarvis taking home third behind Meservey.

The Ridge Runners once again proved to be the action of the evening with third-place starter Josh Hodgdon taking advantage of Carl Gagnon’s back-slide from the outside pole. Hodgdon made it to the lead by lap five while behind him 2nd through 5th ran nose-to-tail around the inside groove of Lee USA Speedway. Tyler Fish led Derek McKeen, Kyle Dumas and sub-driver Jimmy Renfrew Jr. in a freight train until Dumas and Renfrew made moves to the front. In the end, Josh Hodgdon took down his first win of the season over Fish and Dumas at the line.
