It is the final countdown and last-minute track preparations are in full swing to be ready to open the doors on our 52nd season.
This Saturday May 4th it is the annual car show at its new location for 2019, this year at the Bradford Fair Grounds, Bradford VT where the cars and stars will be judged, and the top three recognized for their accomplishment. Then the first practice session will follow in the afternoon. The 99ROCK wfrd weekly racing season will then see weekly competition in all five divisions starting that same night May 4th sponsored by FMS NAPA of Bradford, the proud sponsor of Bear Ridge Speedway’s opening night for over two decades. Racing will kick into gear at 5:30 pm(ish), based on track conditions.
Youth and Experience to do Battle Again in Street Stocks
Barre, VT – Thunder Road’s longest-running four-cylinder division is back to bring the thrills in 2019. The Allen Lumber Street Stocks begin their championship season on Sunday, May 5 at the 21st Community Bank N.A. 150 and will once again feature a dynamic mix of longtime veterans of the sport and youngsters starting their climb up the racing ladder.
Barre, VT – The Lenny’s Shoe & Apparel Flying Tigers are ready to open their 2019 championship battle at Barre’s Thunder Road on Sunday, April 28 at 1:30pm as part of the Community Bank N.A. 150. Early indications are that it could be one of the largest, most wide-open battles in years with numerous drivers capable of earning the crown.

Just three more weeks till opening day at Bear Ridge Speedway, May 4th the 51st consecutive season opening day is just around the corner, and everyone is anxious to see the dirt fly, and get their first order of gravy fries! We have finally been able to get into the track, and with the warmer weather and rain over the last few days, it is hoped that we will see most of the frost out of the ground.
Ellington, CT: The USAC Dirt Midget Association prepares to kick off the 2019 season with many returning teams and several new ones joining the series for the first time. With thirteen races already locked in from May to September, the series will see action once again in the New England and New York area.
Thunder Road Season Opener Postponed Due to Snow, Scheduling
Barre, VT – The start of the 60th season of racing at Barre’s Thunder Road will have to wait one more week. Track management has officially postponed the season-opening Community Bank N.A. 150 to Sunday, May 5 at 1:30pm.
