Thunder Returns to the Monadnock Mountains in 2017

Winchester, NH – The owners of Monadnock Speedway are very optimistic as they embark on the
2017 racing season. Modified racing has always been popular at the high-banked, ¼ mile speedway and
will continue to be the backbone of Monadnock this year.

Topping the excitement at Monadnock Speedway is the return of the open-wheel
Modified Series. Over the last several years, the speedway has developed a strong following in what
they called the “Sportsman Modifieds”. Written years ago, the rules were designed to provide an
economical modified racing division – exactly the same as the ever-popular SK Lights that run at
nearby Connecticut race tracks. Going into the 2017 season, the Sportsman Modifieds will carry a new
name – the SK Modified Lights.
