Naples ME (9/26) All racing roads lead to Oxford Plains Speedway this weekend when three Pro All Stars Series (PASS) North racing series wrap up their 2012 season.

The final round of the PASS super late model title fight headlines Sunday’s action when two second generation racers duke it out for the crown.

Cassius Clark went into last weekend’s penultimate round at White Mountain Motorsports Park with a slim eight point championship lead, but an early race tangle for Clark combined with a strong second place run by Travis Benjamin turned the tables atop the standings. Now Benjamin’s the man on top of the heap, but his eight point margin is by no means comfortable.

Clark emerged on top when the PASS traveling road show made their July Oxford stop; Benjamin had a potential race winner until problems beset the Morrill Maine racer, eventually finishing fourteenth.

There will be plenty of challengers for Sunday’s win. Defending series champ Johnny Clark has pulled himself up to third in the standings, and DJ Shaw will look to rebound from two tough weeks at the track. Kyle DeSouza led a bunch of laps in July and he’ll try and seal the deal Sunday. Ben Rowe has his groove back and he’ll look for a win to end his PASS North season on a strong note. Same goes for Lonnie Sommerville, who is winless in 2012. White Mountain PASS winner Derek Ramstrom, the King of Oxford Plains Mike Rowe, Joey Doiron, Gary Smith and many more will do their utmost to keep Clark and Benjamin out of victory lane.

The PASS Mod series came of age in 2012, with thirty different drivers starting one or more of the eight Mod races to date. Point leader Andy Shaw and Alan Wilson have two wins a piece, while Rusty Bryant, Dale Shaw, Mitch Miller and Poncho Darveau have each made one victory lane appearance.
Wilson, who claimed the July Oxford edition, trails Shaw by thirty markers in the standings.

The PASS Sportsman point battle is tight. Oxford veteran Carey Martin is seeking a third Sportsman title and he leads the standings by nine over Craig Smith. Joe Pastore Jr. is ready to pounce should the top two falter; Pastore is just four points behind Smith and trails Martin by thirteen.

The Oxford/PASS Fall Finale kicks off Saturday September 29 with practice for the PASS divisions and extra distance racing for six Oxford divisions. Practice runs from 10:00 AM until 2:30 PM, racing at 3:00 PM.

Sunday September 30 its PASS Championship Day plus 50 laps for wildcat/strictly stocks and 35 laps for the NELCAR Legends. Practice gets underway at 10:45 AM, racing at 1:30 PM.
