bbnnbmmAfter thorough research by Rockford Speedway tech officials and parts manufacture engineers, parts under the hood of Casey Johnson’s Super Late Model car were found to be not within the rules laid out for the 200 lap National Short Track Championship, meaning the Edgerton Wisconsin driver is not able to claim a second win in as many days at Rockford Speedway during the 49th annual event and has been disqualified from the Sunday afternoon feature.

Following Post Race Technical Inspection and in the opinion of manufacture engineers, the suspected parts (within the carburetor) did not match the original production models.

The findings hand the win to Rockford’s Steve Rubeck, who led 191 laps in the 200 lap race. Rubeck is now just the seventh man to win the National Short Track Championship 200 lap race multiple times, joining Steve Carlson, Joe Shear, Eddie Hoffman, Dick Trickle, Jeremy Lepak and Richie Bickle.

Brian Johnson Jr will be credited with second place, his best finish in the 200 lap event. Michael Bilderback will officially be counted as third place, followed by James Swan in fourth and Jim Olson rounding out the top five.
