Jason Colbeth goes for a wild flip in the DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupe makeup feature and comes back to finish 6th in the regular feature for the night.

BRADFORD, VT – The Sprint Cars of New England hit the Ridge for their fourth of seven events for the year. SCoNE veterans Chris Donnelly and Jacob Williams were no challenge for the new boy in town. Scott Holcomb hailing from Conn, having run in the New York ESS series is no stranger to the wings or to Bear Ridge Speedway, competing bi-weekly in the USAC DMA Midgets. It only took Holcomb 2 weeks at the Ridge to reacquaint himself with the Wings, finishing in victory lane his last visit and taking the win dominantly this week. Donnelly finished second with Jacob Williams taking third. Will Hull and Lacey Hanson completed the top five.

In the DIRTcar Bond Auto Parts it took Kevin Chaffee 32 laps to methodically charge from the back of the pack to take the point away from TC Forward. From there he sailed on for his fourth win of the season. Four different drivers held the point over the course of the feature with TC Forward holding the most but unfortunately not the last. Forward was able to hold on to third losing the runner up spot to Jason Gray. Gary Siemons was another point leader along with Mike Dunn, both coming back from heat race damages. Both would fall out of the top five as DJ Robinson and Robert Tucker crossed the line fourth and fifth.
The night started a bit rough for Jason Colbeth, as he went for a wild ride connecting with the infield tires midway in the Dennis Preston Builder night makeup race. Colbeth crawled out of his upside down DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes and made the long walk to the pits. His night appeared to be over, but Colbeth was not ready to call it quits. The car was righted hauled to the pits, and the crew worked feverously to get the car race ready. With a handful of laps left Colbeth jumped in and started up his machine with smoke billowing and finished the race coming home fourteenth. While working on the car the racing was hot and heavy as Tim Hodge did battle with Thomas Placey for the point position. Hodge was able to hold off Placey for the win with Melvin Pierson finishing third. Bob Shepard and Brian Chaffee completed the top five.
In the regular event the aged veteran Buster Kathan in the horned thirteen took advantage of his front row starting spot and a track just to his liking leading the charge for twenty five laps of the thirty lap main event. A popular favorite everyone would love to see Kathan win, and all thought tonight would be the night. Unfortunately having been denied the win in the first race, Thomas Placey was not going to fall for second a second time taking the lead from Kathan on lap 26 and went on to win. Kathan held on for second his best finish of the year with Jason Horniak in third. Jonathan Covey and Matt Ellsworth completed the top five.
The USAC DMA Midgets return to action August 8, 2015.
The Crazy Ed’s Limited Late Models were a bit short for the night with a small field of cars on hand. Wanting to give the drivers the opportunity to race but also mindful of fans and the need to ensure a good show for them, the Late Models ran a five lap shortened race. James Fadden claimed the win with Matt Lashua once again the runner up. Tim Martin completed the final victory lane spot.
It was all eights again in the Weglarz Property Service/F.M.S. Auto Parts Four Cylinders with Sean Perron in the 8 bringing the field to the green to start the race. This week though it would be Mike Ryan in the 86 grabbing the win with Jesse Durkee 88, coming home second and Perron falling back once again to third. Robert Welch and Jacob Roy rounded out the top five. Justin Severance had his worse finish of the season coming home eighth.
