FairPoint to Open Thunder Road Thursday Night RacingBarre, VT – Kyle Pembroke rode the outside line to pick up his second Thunder Road Late Model win in the last three races at the Fairpoint Communications Trophy Dash on Thursday, July 16.

East Montpelier’s Pembroke started on the pole of the 50-lap main event, but used the high groove to get the jump on Milton’s Eric Badore following the race’s only caution on lap 28. Jason Corliss and Nick Sweet followed Pembroke through to second and third, but became locked in a battle of their own for the second position, allowing Pembroke to hang on for the win.

Corliss took second, while Sweet’s third-place result unofficially gives him the points lead. John Donahue and Scott Dragon were fourth and fifth. Cody Blake, Eric Badore, Mike Bailey, Derrick O’Donnell, and Jim Morris rounded out the top-10.

Craftsbury Common’s Mike Martin earned his first win of the year in the Bond Auto Tiger Sportsman 35-lap feature. Martin took the lead from Essex’s Mike Billado on lap 12just before the race’s only caution. He then held off point leader Bredan Moodie for the victory.

Defending Tiger Champion Jason Woodard finished third, followed by Billado and Christopher Pelkey. Dylan Payea, Doug Crowningshield, Jeffrey Bousquet, Joe Steffen, and Aaron Smith finished sixth through tenth.

Nick Pilotte won the 25-lap Allen Lumber Street Stock feature in the first Thunder Road visit of the season for the former champion. Tyler Austin and Jaden Perry were second and third. Marcel J. Gravel, rookie Matthew Smith, Alan Maynard, Ken Stridsberg, Jamie Davis, Jamon Perry, and Gary Mullen also earned top-10 finishes.
