fdtdgdfgdBRADFORD, VT – Midseason Championship double points Shirley & Mickey Bruleigh Memorial night afforded a packed house plenty of racing excitement with competitors duking it out for the top points. It I hard to believe that this event marked the half way point to the season, but rest assured there is still plenty of edge of your seat racing available for the fans with the points battles starting to take shape and eager drivers looking for their first win of the season.

dsdgdfgdfBRADFORD, VT – Three of the five events were recorded in the record books when rain descended on the track as the DIRTcar Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupes were just a few laps into their main event. A huge fireworks display brought to the fans in part by Noise R Us Fireworks was set to go off after the regular racing show. A quick decision to park the Coupes and light up the skies before the rains washed out that as well was made. The rains lightened and the best fireworks show in New England was the closing excitement of the Dennis Preston Builder sponsored night.

BearRidgeLogoBRADFORD, VT – The 2015 Wells River Savings Bank night has been recorded in the record books with four first time winners of the season out of the five main events. To the dismay of two young driver’s anxious for their first win of the season, the old adage of it ain’t over till it’s over proved true this night in the Bond Auto DIRTcar Sportsman Modifieds. Starting on the point TC Forward gave up the lead on lap two, to hard charging Josh Currier. Currier held off the return challenges of Forward only relinquishing it once on lap 21. He regained the lead and looked more than poised to claim his first win as he held on until lap 37. Unfortunately from the seventeenth starting position, Jason Gray had been methodically working his way to the front of the pack, with a mere three laps to go he gained the lead and went on to win the forty lap main event his first of the season. Currier held on for second, and the young gun Jordan Fornwalt silently worked his way from mid pack to grab the final victory lane spot. Adam Pierson and Robert Tucker rounded out the top five.

tgbbdfbdfBRADFORD, VT – Opening night (day) is a long at the Ridge, with the festivities starting out at the Bradford Jiffy Mart for the annual Bear Ridge Car Show. The field was filled with some spectacular looking machines, and it was a difficult task to pick out the best three for each division. The awards will be presented to the finest on May 16th when the USAC DMA Midgets return. Following the car show the trailers headed up the hill to hit the track for the first time, for an afternoon practice. Then it was time to race and the first green flag on the 48th consecutive racing season was thrown at the infamous 6:00pm(ish) time. After heat races, the dash for cash for the Midgets and a Blackmount Equipment Semi Feature for the DIRTcar Sportsman Coupes, the Ridges beloved Penny Davis who was taken from us in March was taken for a final ride around the track in the very famous #6 driven by Promoter/owner and multi-track champion C.V.
