Brent Dragon: ACT Late Model Tour
White Mountain Motorsports Park Race Preview

Brent Dragon of Milton, Vt., returns to one of the tracks on the ACT Late Model Tour where he’s had the most success — as the series hits White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, N.H., for the ACT 150 on Saturday, June 26. Dragon won this event in 2007 and he hasn’t finished outside the top-3 in any of his last four starts at White Mountain. Dragon is still searching for his first top-5 of the finish of 2010, but a solid start to the season has him second in the standings — just 62 points behind leader Brian Hoar through the first four races of the year. The veteran racer has made 178 career ACT starts, tops on the all-time list.

BRENT, WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ON HEADING BACK TO WHITE MOUNTAIN THIS WEEKEND?

White Mountain is a pretty good track for us. It’s probably one of our better tracks. I like it a lot. I’m looking forward to going back there this weekend.

WHAT IS IT ABOUT THE TRACK THAT YOU’VE TAKEN TO?

You use a lot of brake — a lot of brake. That’s the way it was with the tracks I grew up on, you always used a lot of brakes. It made the cars turn good. And White Mountain needs that. To make the car turn good, you’ve got to use a lot of brake and get the thing slowed down.

LOOKING BACK AT LAST WEEKEND, YOU HAD A PRETTY GOOD NIGHT AT OXFORD THAT ALLOWED YOU TO CLOSE THE GAP ON BRIAN HOAR JUST A BIT.

It was a pretty good night. We gained a few points on (leader Brian Hoar) in the end. He finished behind us in the heat race, so that deal sort of helps us a little bit there.
