First Super Stock Win for Brooks

Winchester, NH: Mother nature would play a huge role with tonights feature events as rain shut down the remainder of the feature events just as the pro stocks were taking to the track. But some of the show had already been complete and fans had gotten a taste of fast wheel to wheel racing.

Young Guns were first in their 15 lap feature, which saw pole sitter JT Cloutier put down his first win of the season. Cloutier would set the pace and never look back, leading the race by 1/2 a track. Cloutier, when discussing the win thanked “Mom and Dad” and the folks at Big Boys Racing for some well made adjustments to get him here. Matt Parmenter would take second followed by Adam Manley and his Saturday night BMW.

MIni Stocks were next on the grid for 25 action packed laps. Pole sitter Beth Adams and 3rd place starter Joey Kendall were bith bacj after they eacg had distributor problems last week. Adams would bring the field to the green and lead until getting passed by Tim Jackson on lap 11. Kendall would run on Jackson’s bumper for 2nd and try many times to complete the challenge for first, but when the checkered flew it would be Jackson taking his 3rd victory of the season.

Super Stocks would run a caution free race, even with a spin by Stuart Wheelden’s #68. Andy Brooks Jr. would start on the pole and see his first victory, but not without having to hold off Nick Boivin’s #11 Fusion. Boivin would challenge Brooks every lap, in each turn and on both the front and back strecthes and would gain nothing but racing respect for running a clean race. Brooks would use up his tires during his back strecth winning burn out, as fans would cheer in excitment. Brooks has been competing for years but unitl tonight had never won. Boivin wanted this win, and with his talent this is sure to happen soon, but for tonight he would settle for second. Nick Gravel would come home 3rd after a hard fought battle for position with John Lavioe.

Nema Lites would show fans that open wheel, winged cars know how to get your blood pumping at the highbanks. Leaders would swap positions often and racers, at times, were 3 and 4 wide and at one point fans saw 5 wide wheel banging racing. After four race related cautions the 48 driven by Todd Bertrand would take the win followed by Paul Lugelle and Anthony Nocella. A crash on the front strectch right in front of the leaders as the checkered flag flew came close to marring the finish.

Outlaw Pros were stopped on lap 2, and would not restart because of rain.True sportsmanship was shown at the beginning of the race Brandon Ovitt was able to start the race in Nancy Muni’s super street. Ovitt had engine issues with his car at practice and used the borrowed ride to keep him in the point chase. This is just one example of many class acts from the racers here at Monadnock Speedway.

The full field of racing returns next week, adding Outlaw Pros, Sportman Modifieds and the rest of the card and both full sizde and mini endurdos
