TD Bank 250 Scheduled For July 24, 2011

OXFORD, Maine – Oxford Plains Speedway announced today that the 38th annual TD Bank 250 will be held on Sunday, July 24, 2011. Qualifying for the event will begin at 2 pm. For the eighth straight season, the event will be contested on an open date for the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series.

“We are looking forward to another great TD Bank 250 in 2011,” Speedway owner Bill Ryan announced. “Our fans have come to expect to watch not only the superstars of the Late Model ranks from throughout New England and Canada, but to also watch NASCAR Sprint Cup drivers compete for the coveted TD Bank win.”

Ryan added, “This year we are particularly excited that the TD Bank 250 will follow the Sprint Cup race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway. NHMS has become a great partner to our Late Model efforts and this schedule gives fans the opportunity to create a great vacation plan around our events.”

Since 2004, a long list of notable NASCAR drivers have made the trip to Oxford in an attempt to win the TD Bank 250. Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch, Kyle Busch, Denny Hamlin, JJ Yeley, Kevin Lepage, Ricky Craven, Terry Labonte, Kevin Harvick, Kenny Wallace, Steve Wallace and Brad Keselowski have all competed in the TD Bank 250 in recent years. Harvick is the only one that has managed to come away with a victory, taking the checkers in the 2008 event.

Eddie MacDonald has won the past two TD Bank 250 events.
