Two for Tuesday Special Event

Fans filed into the stands for Two for Tuesday racing at the fastest 1/4 mile in the East. The working man’s show began at 7 pm and featured all divisions of racing trying to get in as much competition due to weekend rain outs.

Tour Type Modifieds were the only one to pull heats races. Rusty Ball, a competitor since the track opened, would dominate his heat race. The red flag flew in the second heat when Brandee Tree and Todd Patnode would get together. Patnode would take the brunt and have to be slung between to wreckers and taken to his pit. The field had a third heat which set the position for the feature.

Young Guns series would see Hillary Renaud lose the lead to Felicia Lambert only to have Lambert sustain engine issues which ended her night. Joe Boivin would take the lead and the win followed by J.T Cloutier and battling back for third place Hillary Renaud.

Mini Stocks would see Joey Kendall take the top spot on lap nine until a caution on lap sixteen for the #89 of Shawna Wallace. She was seen heading to the pit with parts dragging. The #14 of Tim Jackson was working his way from the rear of the field and reached the pack, but ran out of laps settling for 4th. Kendall would be the victor, followed by Eric Dejackome and current point’s leader Chris Davis came in third.

Dana Shepard would lead the Super Street racers to the green. Bill Johnston would get into the back of Nancy Muni sending her around. Upon the restart Joe Bates would slide up onto the back stretch wall, and Shepard would get caught up in a three wide battle and then get shuffled to the back. Bates would take the win followed by Eddie Brehio III and Andy Brooks Jr. The excitement would be for 4th and 5th and when the transponder counted John Lavoie followed by Nick Boivin.

Pro Stocks would show on the scoreboard that the pole was to be Fran Colson, but when the cars came out Colson was a no show. Ron Smith, in his #95 machine, was assume the pole and upon the start almost collect all his fellow racers as he got twisted sideways and forced a restart. The race would end with the checkered caution waving together after contact with Brandon Ovitt, Mike Parks and Steve Gauthier. Parks left the track having heavy front end damage to his ride. Barry Gray would take the win followed by Geoff Rollins and Smith.

Sportman Modifieds saw Rusty Ball protégé Scott Nelson on the top spot for the start. This was the only division tonight to run green to checkered. Rich Fournier would snatch the lead and never look back. In for 2nd was Nick Boivin pulling double duty and third to Russ Hersey. Hersey went directly off the track as he also was pulling double duty running a tour type modified.

50 Laps was the distance for our tour type modifieds. Lap #1 would be set for the first caution flag when the turn caught Butch Perry, Matt Mead and Eric Leclair. Lap fourteen caution waved again for Josh King when he spun all by himself in turn 1. Caution on lap #24 as Russ Hersey, Butch Perry and Brandee Tree would spin in turn 3 . Lap 25 would see a single file restart with Kirk Alexander in first place. Caution came out on lap #32 when Brandy Tree’s car seemed to shut down. Caution on lap #42 when Johnson spun in turn 4. The stage was set with Alexander, Jim Boniface and Todd Patanode all wanting the win. Bryan Shumway would be sent to the penalty box for his assistance with Johnson’s spin. Alexander led to the finish with Boniface in 2nd and Patnode for third .

Dick Houle took control over in early in the 4-cylinder 50 lap event with Tim LeBlanc and Rob Thompson running in 2nd and 3rd. Lap 20, Houle commands the lead working through heavy lap traffic. Lap 25 would be tricky for all as Toby Wells dumped fluid on the track. Ten laps later Leon Keniston would hit the backstretch wall hard causing a caution. On the restart, LeBlanc had a great run on Houle for the lead but Houle took it back. On the last lap, Houle celebrated his first win of the season followed by LeBlanc and Matt Gauffin.

Joe Ethier jumped to lead in the Full Size feature event. Half way through Ed Lofland pressured Ethier as they both battled door to door for laps. Ryan Rivet made his to the top three. Lofland took over the lead as Rivet felt Stonier on his bumper. At the checkers it would ne Lofland followed by Ethier and Rivet.

Point leader Johnston Get First Super Stock Win

Winchester, NH: Open wheel night as the Nema Midgets and Nema Lites would join our Tour Type Modifieds, Sportsmen Modified along with full card of other racing divisions featuring Young Guns, Mini Stock, Super Stocks along with 4 cylinder Enduros.

Young Guns are showing with some coaching, seat time and natural talent as they are preparing to graduate and be competitors to reckon with. Adam Manley would again show he has figured out how get around the high banks, followed by Joe Boivin and JT Cloutier who had a side by side battle to the end.

The side by side racing action would begin with the Mini Stock Division Joey Kendall and Beth Adams. Adams would lead for several laps holding Kendall at bay, protecting the bottom and running Kendall hard. After several attempts Kendall made his way to the high side and snatched the lead on the final lap getting the win. Adams would finish second and in for third Eric Dejackome. With all the action and hot competition the racers composure made this event caution free.

Super Stocks were a show unto their own. The field fought many battles for position behind race leader Bill Johnston. Racers like Joe Bates, Chris Curtis Eddie Brehio III, John Lavioe, Nick Boivin, Andy Brooks Jr. Kevin Oullette and others would all jockey for position. Fans were treated to bumping and banging contact and control for a caution free feature. When the dust settled it would be Johnston for the win, followed by Kevin Oullette Jr and always hard charging John Lavioe in third.

Outlaw Pros would hit the ground running. Ron Williams the racer who prides himself with doing more with less would turn out in the top spot followed by Barry Gray for second and Brandon Ovitt for third. Lap #3 caution flag would fly when #66 of Parks had contact with #75 of Geoff Rollins.

Sportsmen Modifieds would take to the high-banks with a tie in points between Russ Hersey and Bill Kimball. The lead would be decided tonight and fans were on the edge of their seats wondering who it be. Dave Knight would lead the field to green and they were off. Scott Nelson spin in turn 2 would bring out the first caution. Lap #5 would see action slowed when Tuesday’s winner Rich Fournier would stall in the entrance to pit road. On lap #10 Kimball would take over the lead on the high side from Knight leaving Hersey and Ricky Labrecque charging for the next spots. Lap 12 caution was not what Kimball was looking and would tighten the field. Kimball took the win while Labrecque was able to hold off Hersey finishing second and third respectfully.

Monadnock Speedway’s own tour type Modifieds took to the track with Roy Seidell leading the field to the green. Seidell would lead until a lap 9 caution came out for Brandee Tree. On the restart, Boniface would take the lead spot as Vic Johnson and Toss Patnode followed. The battle begun as Alexander made his way into third. The top three ran bumper to bumper awaiting the opportunity to take the lead from Boniface. Josh Cantara ran a strong fourth starting from the 14th spot as Rob Williams followed. Boniface would protect his top spot as Patnode and Alexander ran hard switching positions. On lap 48 a caution would come out as Shelly Perry hit the backstretch wall setiing up for a green white checkered finish. At the end, it was Boniface followed by Patnode and Alexander.

The 4-cylinder endures concluded the evening’s events as Louie Maher dominated the feature event. Fred Rogers was the early leader until Maher took it away by lap ten. Lap 21, point leader Matt Gauffin would pull it into the infield with mechanical issues. Eight laps to go the battle was for second as Wells, Rogers, Raymond and LeBlanc battled it out bumper to bumper. The checkered flag went to Maher followed by Wells and Julia Raymond.

This week, Monadnock Speedway will host the annual Open Track Party and Heroes of Yesteryear celebration presented by Ford of Brattelboro. The fans will get an opporunity to meet the drivers and see their acrs trackside from 5pm to 6pm. All divsions will be present including the speedway’s tour type Modifieds.
