Virginia is for PASS South racers (and fans!) this weekend at South Boston

Naples ME (8/22) The Pro All Stars Series (PASS ) South super late models get back at it in earnest this weekend as the east’s fastest full fender short trackers make their annual Virginia stop on Saturday August 28 at “America’s Hometown Track”, South Boston Speedway.

The exotic super late models will tour the 4/10 mile oval for 150 green flag laps, headlining an exciting program that will feature twin 75’s for the NASCAR Whelen Late Models and a 75 lap feature for the Rolling Thunder modifieds.

With but four races remaining on the 2010 schedule the PASS South point race has tightened up considerably . Preston Peltier remains atop the heap, a position he’s held since the spring. But Ryan Blaney and Andy Loden are both going all out to try and run down Peltier for the title. Blaney moved within eighteen points of the lead with is victory in The Daniel Boone Classic, and Loden is just twenty back in third.

2009 PASS South Champion Ben Rowe, Johnny Clark and Cassius Clark have all visited PASS victory lane at South Boston in extra distance races, but this year’s 150 lapper will l be more of a sprint race for the PASS South regulars. As the season winds down, every position counts and you can bet that the drivers and teams that are challenging for the championship will be hanging it all out in their quest for victory.

Saturday August 28 the SoBo gates open at 4:30 PM and the first feature goes green at 7:00 PM. Fans will also enjoy a pre-race driver meet and greet.
