Dover Int’l Speedway

NASCAR K&N Pro Series East

DJ Shaw – #60 Precision JLM Ford

* Shaw enters the season finale ninth in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East point standings. The 20-year-old driver has the potential to close out the season as high as fifth since only 24 points separate fifth through ninth place.

* This will be D.J. Shaw’s first start at Dover International Speedway. His father, Dale Shaw, won at this track in 2001 after a hard-fought battle with Dale Quarterley.

* DJ Shaw has 11 career starts in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East. In that time, he has posted one top-five and four top-10 finishes. His career best finish came at the 2010 season opener at Greenville-Pickens Speedway where he finished fifth.

* Shaw is bringing his Roush Ford to Dover. It’s the first time this year the team has competed with this car, although DJ did run it at New Hampshire Motor Speedway in 2009.

* Last week, Shaw struggled through restarts after his No. 60 Precision JLM Chevrolet got stuck in fourth gear. He was able to rally in the closing laps for a 15th place finish, but it was a disappointment after a perfect pit strategy had him running just outside the top-five.

DJ on his goals for Dover

“Our goal remains the same as it has the last few races – to finish where we run – and hopefully that’s a win. The biggest pressure I feel is to get the best point finish I can. The points are so tight that we could finish fifth or we could finish 13th, and I want to finish fifth.”

DJ on his 2010 season

“You create your own luck, but when you blow transmissions or blow tires, then that’s not really creating anything. We started off really strong, and we’ve been running just as good at every race, but our finishes aren’t reflecting that.”
