NEAR Display To Be Part Of 2011 Frank Maratta Auto & Cycle Show

The New England Antique Racers (NEAR), will again be a part of the annual Frank Maratta Auto & Cycle Show to be held on January 28-30 at the Connecticut Expo Center in Hartford.

The event runs from 9:00 am to 9:00 pm each day.

The NEAR display is being held in-association with Victory Motorsports Marketing Services which will also have several other racing-related exibits displayed during the 3-day show.

Patrons of the NEAR display will have the opportunity to grab an up-close peek at the vintage #9 Pinto modified campaigied by New England notable Don Moon. During a winning career spanning over 3-decades, Moon campaigned at tracks all over the region as-well as throughout the south in the 1960s.

Also on-hand will be the #43 Coupe which was steered to championships by some of the best to have ever competed at Connecticut’s former Plainville Stadium; a much-missed ¼-miler ran by Joe Tinty until its closure at the dawn of the 1980s.

Videos featuring action from the clubs visits to various speedways will be shown during the event, and various items of interest will be displayed. Membership forms will be available for those interested in joining NEAR.

The Connecticut Expo Center is conveniently located in Hartford, just off of I-91 North or South.
