Joey Polewarczyk Jr.: ACT Late Model Tour
ACT Goodyear Speedweeks Cup Race Report – Night 2

Joey Polewarczyk Jr. of Hudson, N.H., finished fifth in the second ACT 100 at New Smyrna Speedway in New Smyrna Beach, Fla., on Monday, February 14, to win the inaugural two-race ACT Goodyear Speedweeks Cup. Polewarczyk, who won Sunday night’s 100-lap event, won the title by a single point over Brian Hoar. After starting 18th in the 26-car field on Monday, Polewarczyk piloted the No. 97 Pole’s Automotive/NH Precision Ford Fusion to the lead in just 67 laps, briefly staying on the point until the handling on his car started to fade after a hard battle to the front. With the overall championship, Polewarczyk has now claimed the last four ACT events in a row — dating back to last September in the ACT Invitational at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.

JOEY, HOW WOULD YOU ASSESS YOUR NIGHT?

I really thought we had the car to win tonight. The guys really put one heck of a setup under it.

I knew we’d have a good shot on (a late restart), but I really used my stuff up coming up from the back. But we did what we had to do to win the first-ever ACT Goodyear Speedweeks Cup, so that’s was pretty cool.

WERE YOU TRYING TO WIN THE RACE OR JUST HOLD ON FOR THE OVERALL CHAMPIONSHIP IN THE FINAL LAPS?

I had nothing left. I was giving it all I had. I really wanted to pull off the sweep here.

This is just so big for us, I thought it would be special to win two of them. But you can’t go wrong with (the championship). I’m so happy for everyone on my team. This is just awesome.
