Hudson NH – Meegan Lord picked up her first career win in dramatic fashion this past Sunday at Hudson International Speedway. Slika Ennis and Jason Carroll also found their way to the winners circle at the historic high banks in Hudson NH.

From the pole position, Lord led the Thunder Light division to starter Bob Munroe’s green flag and led the caution free race from green to checker. In the first corner of the first lap, Chad Wendell was running right behind Lord but got loose and had to gather it back up enabling Lord to put distance between her and the rest of the field.

At the halfway point of the race, Lord’s big lead was starting to dwindle as Jarrod Soucy had made his way into second place and was gaining on Lord on each lap. On the final lap, Soucy caught Lord but the two made contact coming off turn four and Lord was sent spinning backwards in the dirt across the finish line. Carlos Esquivel was second and Wendell was third. Soucy was penalized after the contact and scored in fourth place.

Slika Ennis started in the third spot of the Rookie Stock feature and quickly made his way to the top spot. Dan Murphy Jr. started right behind Ennis in the fifth starting spot and also moved up quickly to second place in the opening laps. Ennis led every lap of the caution free race but it was no easy task with Murphy Jr. on his rear bumper throughout the race. With both cars just about equal and Ennis not making any mistakes, Murphy Jr. had to settle for second and watch as Ennis flashed across the finish line.

Corrie Merritt charged from eighth starting spot to finish third followed by Jerry Lepage, Dean Wendell, John Morin Jr., Scott Thomson, Roger Tanguay and Ryan Joyce.

The Roadrunner feature had a family themed front row with Jen Lord on the pole and her dad Tom Lord on the outside pole. At the drop of the green flag with the cars getting up to speed Jason Carroll dove to the inside of Jen Lord and made it three-wide by the start/finish line. Carroll cleared the front row by the first turn and took the lead. Johnny Reefer started seventh and by a lap five caution had made it up to second place.

Carroll retained command of the race after the restart and Reefer wasn’t able to mount a challenge. Carroll took home his second win of the 2011 season. Reefer was second and Jef James third. Fourth through tenth were Nick Fissette, Jen Lord, Tom Lord, Red Green, Scott Dunklee, Robert Rund and Kevin Dunklee.

Guy Toupin won the Spectator Drags and the Spectator Race. Jeff Gilman won the Flagpole Race.
