AUSTIN, HOW WOULD YOU SUM UP YOUR FINISH?

We didn’t get finish we deserved. We had a faster car than the results showed. I think it’s the track – (track position) is crucial there.

We started 10th but we were relegated back to 15th or 16th right after the green flag. We lost that position so early on,.I think we actually made it up to eighth before the last caution came out. Then it was just a matter of where we lined up to restart.

YOU OBVIOUSLY FEEL LIKE YOU HAD BETTER THAN A 12th-PLACE CAR.

Mark the calendar, but it was probably between last year and the first half of this year, where we had one of the five fastest cars all day long. I don’t take much from speed charts in practice, but we were good right when we unloaded.

We felt like going into the feature we had a shot at a Top-5. It’s disappointing that we didn’t get what we expected, but at least we know things are really coming together like they should.

HOW IMPORTANT WAS IT TO BE IN THE INSIDE GROOVE?
You can survive on the outside – but when cars get lined up on the bottom and there’s no opening that comes up, you’re just waiting and waiting for the spot to open. You end up playing the whole restart game, hoping that you’ll be on the inside.
