WHAT THEY’RE SAYING

BRIAN HOAR, Driver of the No. 37 GossCars.com Dodge, On his thoughts about Twin State Speedway: “Tight little bullring – guaranteed to have car damage. You need a big dumper bumper and rub rails. It’s a tough little track. We’ve had a decent race car there, but we haven’t pulled off great finishes. As long as you don’t mind rubbing, banging, and bumping, it’s OK to race on. I like the locale because it’s close to home, but when you put a field of cars on it it gets narrow fast.”

On his goals for this weekend: “I would love to have a Top-5 finish. I’ve got all of the confidence that we’ll be fast on the stopwatch. I like driving and racing the track, but it’s conducive to rough racing. Overall, just a good solid finish with the body in one piece resembling a race car [would be great].”

On leading the ACT Tour points just two weeks away from a string of big races starting with the TD Bank 250 in July: “I’m looking forward to it. It’s that time of year when things get hectic. We usually run good through the center of the season. The [TD Bank] 250 is a blast. The car has been so good there [Oxford Plains Speedway] the last two or three years. I’m hoping the crowds are building back up. I like going to Beech Ridge [Motor Speedway] because we make that whole week [between the TD Bank 250 and BRMS] a vacation. I can’t wait to go back to Loudon [New Hampshire Motor Speedway] for the big race, because we run well there. Chaudiere is fun. There’s some great racing coming up, and we run well at these tracks. I have confidence that our performance will be there.”

On how he would rate his season at this halfway mark: “Excellent year. Overall, it’s been an outstanding start to the year and we’re very excited. We couldn’t have asked for more. The car has been performing, as long as we can keep the momentum we have a great team and a great car. We know these tracks, and we are communicating well. Hopefully we’ll keep getting the same good results.”
