Vermont Motorsports Magazine Posts Airborne Speedway “Triple Crown” Bonus
BURLINGTON, VT — The stock car racing news website Vermont Motorsports Magazine — online at www.vtmotormag.com — has posted a $100 “Triple Crown” bonus for the headline DIRTcar Modified division at Airborne Speedway in Plattsburgh, NY on Saturday, July 9.
The Modified driver who can post victories in their qualifying heat, the 30-lap, $1,000-to-win feature race, and the special six-lap, six-car, $600-to-win “Dash For Cash” on Saturday night will earn the $100 www.vtmotormag.com Triple Crown Bonus. All told, there’s $1,700 waiting for the Triple Crown winner.
Defending track champion Patrick Dupree of Saranac Lake, NY has won three DIRTcar Modified features this season including the last two events. Former champions Martin Roy of Napierville, QC and George Foley of Saranac Lake, NY each have victories, as does Pierre Berthiaume of Joliette, QC. Other contenders include Vermonters Vince Quenneville, Jr., and Don Scarborough, New Yorkers Kris Vernold, Leon Gonyo, and Greg Atkins, and Quebec drivers Maxime Viens and Patrice McGrail.
“Even though we’re based in Vermont, we get huge reader support from the Plattsburgh area and we want to give a little of that support back,” said VMM Editor Justin St. Louis. “The racing at Airborne Speedway is among the very best in the country, and so are the fans. Hopefully the vtmotormag.com Triple Crown Bonus will give them another reason to cheer for their favorite drivers.”
Saturday’s action at Airborne Speedway is presented by Champlain Valley Electric and Nortrax. Racing begins at 6:00pm.
