LOUDON, N.H. (Aug. 2, 2011) -Over 40 American-Canadian Tour teams tested at New Hampshire Motor Speedway today, gearing them up for the ACT All Star Showdown race on Aug. 13, during the MoveThatBlock.com INDY 225 weekend.

Dominating the late-model tour so far this season, seven-time ACT champion and current point’s leader Brain Hoar was amongst those who took laps at NHMS today.

“We were out here trying a few things seeing if we could get the car to go faster,” said Hoar. “We learned a couple things, went faster, went slower but we have been here a lot; we love it here at Loudon and can’t wait to come back in a couple weeks.”

The Williston, Vt., native is no stranger to running well at the 1.058-mile oval. He boasts seven top-fives and nine top-10 finishing positions between the NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series East and the American-Canadian Tour.

The 2009 ACT Invitational winner Eddie MacDonald was on top of the charts throughout most of the test session today.

“We were pretty happy with the car,” said MacDonald. We were fast but not as fast as we would like it to be. The competition in the ACT is tough but I am definitely looking forward to coming back.” When asked about sharing the stage with INDYCAR MacDonald added, “It’s going to be exciting to see the Indy cars come to Loudon. To be in the infield with them is going to be pretty cool.”

New Hampshire native Brad Leighton boasts several victories in NASCAR’s K&N Pro Series East at “The Magic Mile” and looks to continue his winning ways when he returns next weekend.

“We should be in good shape for the race,” said Leighton. “We finished second in the simulated race and passed a bunch of cars. The car has good speed we just have to work on the handling part.”

Racing for a purse of $122,000, over 70 teams from nine different states and provinces have entered the American-Canadian Tour All Star Showdown at “The Magic Mile.”
