Peek ‘N Peak Resort next stop for East Coast Snocross Series,
Presented by AMSOIL and Woody’s Traction
CHESHIRE, Conn. – After an of off-weekend that has some teams venturing west to compete in the famed Nielsen Enterprises Grand Finale in Lake Geneva, WI, the time has come to fire the sleds and get back at it here in the east.
With just two points races remaining, those in the hunt for class titles will be all business as East Coast Snocross (ECS) gets set for Round 8 on the 2012 schedule Saturday and Sunday, March 24-25, at the beautiful Peek ‘N Peak Resort & Spa in Findley Lake, New York.
Spectator gates open at 10 a.m. each day, with early qualifying rounds already in progress. Admission is $12 per day, children age 10 and under will be admitted free with a paying adult. Pit passes valid through the entire weekend will be available for an extra $10.
Leading the charge into Findley Lake is Pro division point leader Danny Poirier. The two-time champion (2004, 2009) from St. Theodore QC, is poised to earn his third championship aboard his Bailey/Hulten Polaris sleds after a dominant season with multiple final round wins.
Other Pro riders to watch as they chase Poirier in Findley Lake include red-hot second-year Pro Lincoln Lemieux (Ski-doo); New York natives Corin Todd (Ski-doo) and Mike George (Ski-doo); Vermonter Chris Ackerman (Ski-doo); and Richmond, MN, native Jacob Muller.
Riders to watch in the talent-filled Pro Lite division include point leader Lucas Brunelle (Quebec); Mike Pilotte (Massachusetts); Andrew Bailey (New York); Jesse James Bonaduce (New Jersey), Jake daSilva (New Hampshire), Ed “Big Air” Bandel and Chris Coleman.
Along with a full card points racing in the Pro and Semi-Pro divisions, Round 8 at Peek ‘N Peak will also feature some great battles in the Sport, Women and Junior divisions. The riders in these developmental classes work just as hard during race weekends while enjoying some great quality time with their families.
Last year at Peek ‘N Peak, eventual champion Mathieu Morin, of Val-D’Or, QC, wrapped up the Pro Stock title with his victory in Saturday’s 14-lap final. Poirier finished just three ticks of the stopwatch behind in second, while Todd filled out the podium in third. Minnesota native Matt Piche, of Lake Shore, MN, went wire-to-wire in Sunday’s Pro Open final to record his first career ECS victory.
In Pro Lite action last March, Adam Sedlmeier had another successful outing in his home state. The young athlete from Orchard Park held off Cody Flach and Ackerman to claim Saturday’s 10-lap final, then completed the sweep Sunday with another brilliant effort. Muller (second) and Kevin Morin (third) filled out the podium Sunday with solid performances.

East Coast Snocross, presented by Woody’s Traction and AMSOIL, is the sanctioning body for snowmobile racing in the northeastern United States.
