EMILY, HOW DOES IT FEEL TO GET YOUR BEST CAREER FINISH?
It feels good, but I really wish we would have gotten the win. I think we were definitely good enough to do it, but I just couldn’t quite get there.
After starting sixth and getting up to second, I got to restart on the outside on a couple of restarts (Lap 33 and Lap 34), and I just couldn’t get by them on the outside. The car wasn’t quite as good there.
WAS THE CAR THE BEST IT’S BEEN FOR YOU AT CANAAN?
It was pretty good, but it wasn’t at its fullest. It was still pretty good.
All day we were pretty fast. We kept gaining on it as the day went on. We never made any big changes to it. It was very close when we unloaded. We just fine tweaked it to get the car ready to go.
YOU MUST FEEL GOOD ABOUT THE WAY THE NIGHT WENT.
We won our heat race, went to the semi and started fifth. We were faster than the car in front of us. I got a little sideways off of Turn 4, and we raced to the finish line like that. We were both kind of sideways at the checkered flag.
It was a good night. We’re getting close to that win.
