seekonkFour events in five days will put the Seekonk Speedway staff to the test. It starts on Wednesday, August 1, when the 8th Annual Open Wheel Wednesday takes over the speedway for a 100 lap non sanctioned Modified Madness $10,000 to win show. It has become one of the highest paying short track asphalt modified events on the east coast. Competitors from the NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour, the Valenti Modified Racing Series, Race of Champion Modified Series and independents all have an equal shot at the $10k prize money. Registered drivers include former Open Wheel Wednesday winners Todd and Vinnie Annarummo, Doug Coby, Matt Hirschman, and Chris Pasteryak. Additional names on the entry list include Jon McKennedy, Eric Berndt, 7 time NASCAR Modified Champion Mike Stefanik, Dave Berghman, Steven Masse, 16 year old PA. native Austin Kochenash and 17yr old Tommy Barret, both who are coming into their own in the modified ranks.

Also on the schedule for Open Wheel Wednesday, will be the return of the NEMA Midgets, who will be making their first appearance of the season at Seekonk, and the Nick’s Pit Stop Legends, who compete weekly as part of the Fast Friday series. Adult admission for this event is $26 for 13 and above, with kids 12 and under FREE. Action starts at 7pm.

On Friday night, Fast Friday returns with the Pure Stocks and Nick’s Pit Stop Legends highlighting the night. The Sport4 class and the Seekonk Youth Racing Association join in on the fun. Just $6.00 for adult admission, with kids 12 and under FREE.

On Saturday, the Pro All Stars Series (PASS) Super Late Models invade the 1/3 mile for a 150 lap test of car and driver. This will be the fourth Annual PASS 150. Tom Scully Jr picked up the win in 2009, while Dave Darling followed up in 2010. Last year saw multi time PASS Champ Johnny Clark take home the checkered. In an event that has seen the Seekonk Pro Stock regulars compete for the win each year, one of the only tracks on the PASS schedule where the regulars are a threat to win each time, this one will go down to the wire. Seekonk’s regular Pro Stock class will have the night off, but the Late Models, Sport Trucks and Street Stocks will be in action. General admission for this event is just $22 for adults, with kids 12 and under FREE.

On Sunday, the speedway gears up for their third thrill show of the season. In addition to the Spectator Drags, Enduro Drags, Enduros and Figure 8’s, the Monster Trucks return for their high flyin, car crushing action. The annual Trailer Race will also take center stage, as the jam car style event will keep the fans on the edge of their seats.

If all of that wasn’t enough, Seekonk Speedway and Cerrone GMC Chevy in North Attleboro MA have teamed up to give away a brand new pick-up truck. All you need to do is be there for this historical event. Adult admission is $20, with kids 6-12 for only $10.00, and 5 and under FREE.
