Beech RidgeScarborough, ME – Saturday’s NASCAR Nite Pro Series 50-lap feature event was won by Lyman’s Alan Tardiff.

At the drop of the green, Keith McKinnon, of Saco, lead the field to the green, until Mike Maietta, Jr, of South Portland, captured the lead from him on lap two. Maietta, lead until a lap-seven caution bunched the field back together.

On the restart, Maietta, surrendered the lead and second place to Charlie Colby, of Newcastle and Tardiff respectively. Colby and Tardiff battled side-by-side for three laps until lap 10 when Tardiff was able to gain momentum and pass Colby for the lead.

Tardiff, led until the second caution of the event flew on lap 22, which regrouped the field and put Bobby Timmons, III, of Windham on the front row for the restart. Timmons started 7th in the feature and maneuvered his way to the front row by that caution. Former champions Mike Rowe, of Turner and Kelly Moore, of Scarborough also joined the battle for the lead at the caution.

On the restart, Tardiff maintained the lead over Timmons, while veterans Rowe and Moore battled each other for third. The fourth and final caution flew on lap 36. The caution prepared a 14-lap shootout between Tardiff and Timmons. Tardiff, last week’s runner-up, was able to keep Timmons at bay by a car length at the checkered flag.

During the remaining laps, Moore and Don Colpritt, Jr, of Scarborough, passed Rowe with three laps remaining in the event to claim 3rd and 4th. Colpritt, who started 10th in the race, maintained a consistent race for a 4th place finish while Rowe, ended out the feature with a solid 5th place finish.

For Tardiff, it was his first 2013 NASCAR Nite win and his first win since June, 2012.
