pro stock tourThe Parts for Trucks Pro Stock Tour is heading to the high banks of Riverside International Speedway this Saturday, June 15th for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150. This will be the first event of the season for the track located just outside of Antigonish in James River, NS and round two of 12 for the popular stock car racing series. Riverside has produced 12 different winners in the last 14 Pro Stock Tour events held at the track. Grandstand gates for the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 open at 3:00 PM; Atlantic Tiltload Time Trials will get underway at 5:10 PM with racing slated for 6:00 PM.

Hometown heroes Donald Chisholm (Antigonish, NS) and George Koszkulics (New Glasgow, NS) will both be drivers to watch on Saturday. Chisholm won the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 100 in 2011 and has three wins to his name at the track. Mike Stevens (Riverview, NB) won this event last season and knows how to get around the 1/3 mile high banked oval. Koszkulics snapped a long winless streak at Riverside at the end of the 2011 season and is always quick at his home track. These three will have to battle 30 other talented teams from across the Maritimes if they wish to return to victory lane at Riverside International this Saturday.

Due to weather cancelling the Fast Eddie Racewear 100 slated for June 1st, the championship point picture remains the same following the season opener. Shawn Turple (Enfield, NS) is the current point leader, edging out race one winner John Flemming (Halifax, NS). Although Flemming received top points for the win, Turple picked up additional bonus points after taking home the Linde Most Laps Led Award, giving him a slight three point advantage over Flemming in the chase for the championship. Rounding out the top five in points is Greg Proude (Springvale, PE), Daryl Mahar (Hubley, NS) and Steve Ross (Waverley, NS).

Opening the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 is the Napa Sportsman Series who will be kicking off their season with the Highland Home Building Centre 50 lap feature.

If you are unable to join us at Riverside this Saturday, you can catch the race on Sirius/XM Satellite Radio, channel 167 as the Ron MacGillivray Chev Buick GMC 150 will be broadcast live to an international audience on Race Time Radio at 8:00 PM AST.
