Waterford, CT (June 4, 2014) – Wild ‘n Wacky racing returned to the
Speedbowl on Wednesday evening with fast paced motorsports action
entertaining the crowd on hand. Taking victories on the night included
Mike Christopher Jr. of Wolcott, winning for the third time in four races
on Wednesdays in the INEX Legend Cars division with a come from behind
effort. Jon Porter of Canterbury checkered the Super X-Car division,
Jordan Hadley of Quaker Hill won in the X-Cars, and Jonathon Puleo of
Branford won in the INEX Bandolero youth racing class.

Christopher had to work his way through the INEX Legend Cars field during
a lengthy green flag stretch of racing in the division’s 25-lap race.
After the opening green flag, the field ran through lap-18 before the
first of two caution flags in the race came out. Mike Blaskey bolted out
to the lead at the start, pulling ahead to a sizeable advantage seeking
his second straight victory. Christopher arrived in second position on
lap-5 but was a straightaway behind Blaskey. He closed the gap to be
within striking distance of Blaskey when the yellow flag waved.
Christopher tailed Blaskey after the restart until making his move on
lap-23 in turn one, then survived one final restart after Blaskey and Joey
Ternullo tangled behind him racing for second position. John O’Sullivan
III dueled with Jordan Churchill for the runner-up spot to the checkered
flag after the final caution, taking the spot by a bumper. Churchill took
his best Legend Cars division finish home in third.

Hadley mastered the X-Car division once again, scoring a popular 25-lap
victory. He started deep in the field and narrowly averted trouble when
he nearly was collected in the only caution flag of the race on lap-3.
Hadley came through the field after the restart, overtaking Thomas for the
lead on lap-14. He cruised to the win the remainder of the way, with
Thomas finishing in second and Randy Johnston finishing third.

Porter won for the second consecutive time in the Super X-Car division.
He was patient early as the field battled side-by-side ahead of him in the
opening laps. Porter was nearly collected in a turn one incident that saw
two cars come together on lap-6 to bring out the final yellow flag of the
race. He was fast on the outside of the track the rest of the way,
passing cars one by one to move to the lead on lap-15. He got past Ray
Reed and went unchallenged to the win as the race stayed under the green
flag. Reed finished in second and Shane Peele bounced back from a lap-3
spin to wind up placing third.

Puleo won his second INEX Bandolero feature of the season. He led at the
green flag and held back a hard charging Anthony Marvin in the first half
of the race. Nickolas Hovey raced third and moved in to battle Marvin for
second, allowing Puleo to pull away from them during the non-stop 15-lap
race. Puleo went on to the win, his second of the year, and Hovey spun
out of the final corner racing inside of Marvin, who went on to take
second at the finish.

The combination of Porter, Reed and Peter Pollard teamed up to win the
night’s Wacky Race, a relay race for the Super-X Car division.

Laps for Lupus hits the track on Saturday at the Speedbowl. A track walk
will take place following practice and before the night’s racing. The
event raises awareness and charitable donations for the Connecticut
