Waterford Speedbowl has been forced to cancel this evening’s scheduled Wild ‘n Wacky Wednesday racing program due to the massive amounts of rainfall earlier this morning, plus the forecast for more rain possible throughout the afternoon. The mid-week entertainment program will return next Wednesday, August 20 with races for the INEX Legend Cars and Bandoleros, plus Super X-Cars, X-Cars and a Wacky Race.
The Speedbowl will be in action two additional times this week, first with Friday’s “Sho and Go” at the ‘Bowl, featuring free car cruise night and spectator drags. The event offers free grandstands admission to watch the elimination drags for most any type of motor vehicle, beginning at 6:30pm.
On Saturday, NASCAR Whelen All-American Series racing returns at the shoreline oval. Six divisions take to the track with qualifying races starting at 5:15pm and main events at 7:00pm. The SK Modifieds® return
for another action packed 35-lapper, joined by the Bob Valenti Auto Mall Late Models, Street Stocks and Mini Stocks. The INEX Legend Cars and New England Truck Series round out Saturday’s event card.
