BRADFORD, VT – With crowns on the line, championship night sponsored by 99ROCK and Lucky’s Trailer Sales offered plenty of racing excitement for the packed house Saturday September 20, 2014 at the Ridge.
Gary Siemons makes it to victory lane for the 6th time this season in the DIRTcar Bond Auto Sportsman Modifieds with a big win at the line. Siemons starting from the outside pole got the jump on pole sitter Ryan Christain and looked to be unstoppable for most of the race. Three cautions would slow the pace with Siemons maintaining control on the restarts. On lap 34 Siemons had a brief bobble which gave runner up Bryan King the chance he was looking for and he took over the lead, beating Siemons to the line on the rest of the circuits until the finish. At the line Siemons on the outside nosed past king for the win in a photo finish. Joining the two in victory lane was rookie TC Forward. Robert Tucker and Vince Quenneville completed the top five.
Teddy Salamaa is more than up to the challenge. If you want to give me the pole it is my race to loose and I won’t go down without a fight. The race looked poised to go green to checkers for the third time this season but a late race caution changed that. Salamaa kept the lead on the restart to go on for the win. Billy Simmons in second was unable to capitalize on the restart and would have to settle this week for the runner up spot, with Louie Cadwell coming home right behind him in third. Mitchell Frost and Jason Colbeth completed the top five.
Adam Pierson recovered quickly from his woes of two weeks ago claiming his eighth win in the USAC DMA Midgets. The race got off to a scary start with a role over on the first lap. Scott Viets would see his night end with a ride in the ambulance for observation. When the race was finally restarted Vince Lucca brought the field to green and stayed the point until another caution on lap eight. Adam Pierson was in position and claimed the lead on the restart and never looked back. Pierson was joined in victory lane by team mate Josh Sunn in second and Scott Holcomb in third. Tim Hodge and Vince Lucca rounded out the top five.
Derek Stearns gets his first win in their green to checkers event with Jason Giguere coming home in second and Rob Williams in third.
Mike Ryan grabs win number eight in the KDD NAPA Weglarz Property Service Ridge Runner Hornets and Fast Fours Bobby Bell came home in second with Cody Stearns in third. The first fast four across the line was Rob Gioia.
