White Mountain Motorsports Park Race Preview
THE STORY
Joey Doiron of Berwick, Maine, will look to shake his recent run of bad luck when the PASS North Series heads to the PASS 150 at White Mountain Motorsports Park in North Woodstock, N.H., on Sunday, August 12. Doiron finished eighth at White Mountain Motorsports Park back in May for his fourth Top-10 finish in five career races there. Though he has finished outside the Top-10 in each of his last two races this season – at Oxford Plains Speedway and at Seekonk Speedway with mechanical woes – Doiron is looking to begin a strong stretch run to this season at White Mountain.

Joey Doiron is one of three finalists for the “2012 Maine Young Guns” and will test later this month for the chance to earn a spot with Go Green Racing in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East event at New Hampshire Motor Speedway on September 22.
Joey Doiron has three Top-5 and six Top-10 finishes in 10 PASS North Series races this season.
Joey Doiron finished eighth and ninth, respectively, in two PASS North Series events held at White Mountain Motorsports Park in a 13-day span last September.
Prior to winning the season opener at Beech Ridge Motor Speedway this season, Joey Doiron had never led the PASS North Series point standings.
WHAT THEY ARE SAYING
JOEY DOIRON, Driver of the No. 73 JBJ Machine/Scarborough Downs Chevrolet, On racing at White Mountain Motorsports Park: “I’m looking forward to it. I think we can win. We’ve never really been able to contend for a win there, but we’ve always had really fast cars in the races. I always put my car into the Top-10, but circumstances never seem to add up just right for us.
“If you look at the race in May, we started 28 and got all the way up to the Top-10. It’s a long way to go in just 150 laps there.”
On why he has so much confidence at White Mountain Motorsports Park: “It’s about having a Dale Shaw Race Car and having that team to work with. Dale and DJ both – they’re probably the favorites every time we go there. Knowing we have same stuff, and seeing how we’ve stacked up in testing and on race day agains them has been good.. It’s more confidence than anything, knowing that I can go out there and do it.
“We can still make the cars better, too – testing with them, I learned a few little tricks about the track that I probably wouldn’t have picked up on on a regular race weekend. It helps having someone that you can bounce things off of that has a lot of laps there in the past.”
On his team’s ability to bounce back from disappointment this season: “It’s a lot easier than it was last year. Last year, bad luck always compounded itself. The last two weeks have been tough for us, but we know we can win. Freak things are happening, and want to go to these tracks again with the same car and see if we can go better than we did.
“We’ve still got two races at WMMP, one at Oxford and won at Beech Ridge – and I think there are still people who don’t think we have a chance to contend for wins there.
“I think we’re on the skids a little bit after last week – but if we can go out and win one of these last few races, then we can show that we’re one of the championship contenders for next year. Having a good run at the end of the season would do wonders for the whole program.”

The PASS North Series makes its inaugural appearance at the famed Stafford Motor Speedway in Stafford, Conn., on Sunday, August 26… The half-mile track is the northeastern hub of NASCAR Modified racing and does not have a weekly Super Late Model division. Joey Doiron has never competed at the track.
