Gendron and Pierson Win Tuck Memorial 111
Giguere wins fourth consecutive Late Model Feature


BRADFORD, VT – Veteran stock car driver Mike Gendron returned to competition after a four year layoff this season and it didn’t take him long to return to winning form as Gendron worked his way to the front on lap 45 of the 61 lap Bond Auto Sportsman Modified portion of the Tuck Memorial 111 brought to you by Dad’s 4 By Tool and Supply and ran to victory. Early season points leader Kevin Chaffee finished second after starting 15th, taking the sport from early leader, rookie Jordan Fornwalt with just a handful of laps remaining. Fornwalt finished a strong third with Jason Gray and Adam Pierson rounding out the top five.

Melvin Pierson of East Corinth, VT .was the winner in the Wells River Chevrolet Sportsman Coupe portion of the Tuck Memorial race, taking the lead eleven laps into the 50 lap event. Pierson held off various challenges for the lead and was stalked for the last 20 laps by Kane Pike, who finished in the runner-up position. Tom Placey was third with Jason Colbeth and Jason Horniak completing the top five.

Veteran Jason Giguere of Lebanon, NH remained unbeaten in the Laquerre’s Sports Limited Late Models, taking his fourth win in a row Rookie Brandon Gray was second with Brian Chaffee, James Fadden and Jeremy Hodge in tow.

Tim Martin of White River Junction, VT ran to another win in the Weglarz Property Service Fast Fours, taking the lead from Kevin Harran with just five laps in the books. Harran claimed second with Steve Bell third.

Stan Otterman won the three-segment, cumulatively scored KDD NAPA Auto Parts Hornet “Madness” event. Otterman, who started near the back of all three segments, finished second in all three 18-lap segments to post a total low score of 6 points. Eric Post (7th, 1st, 4th = 12 points) was second overall, with Mike Lique (9th, 3rd, 3rd = 15 points) third, unofficially.

Jacob Williams of Center Tuftonboro, NH posted a convincing win in the Granite State Mini Sprint 600cc feature, taking the lead after early leader Spencer Allen had engine issues. Toby Tatro finished second and Kevin Heath third. Veteran racer Robbie LaCroix posted his first win with the Granite State Mini Sprints, topping the 500cc Class. Josh Boissoneau claimed second with Chris Lussier prevailing for third.

Bear Ridge Speedway’s season of stock car racing continues with Jiffy Mart of Bradford Night on Saturday, June 15th. An open-cockpit doubleheader is on tap with the Sprint Cars of New England and the USAC Dirt Midget Association, plus a full card of the 99ROCK Weekly Racing Series Modifieds, Coupes, Late Models, Fast Fours, and Hornets. Also joining the action will be the Atlantic Coast Old Timers Special general admission is $13 for adults (age 18-61), $10 for teens (12-17) and seniors (62+), and $2 for children; Visa and MasterCard are accepted. Racing begins at the famous “6:00-ish” start time.
